Its not entirely a hokey idea, recent spots showed theres a PG way to approach hardcore wrestling, such as Braun manhandling Lesnar, and a couple of the Hell in a Cell's recently.
Then could make it a segue for NXT homegrown's to make more of a name. A developmental/main roster transitional period if you will. Mike Bennet could have benefitted from such a thing. Could even have the occasional big name show up there just for the hell of it. A can't miss show. 205 you can miss, Raw recaps it enough. And that helps the network.
Exactly man. Like say Sami is the hardcore champion just walking in the hallway. Out of nowhere, Adam Cole becomes the Hardcore Champion on Raw.....Then on nxt as he's gloating. Corbin attacks him and gets distracted as Nia Jax wins the belt and takes off. It's endless BayBay
Ooo I like that. Its just total warfare. Could introduce it in small doses, like you mentioned. Have Adam Cole have reDRagon take out the main champ, and he wins the belt. Treat that as a big deal. Start cementing its a dog eat dog place, and only badasses go there.
Then eventually have a couple superstars allign themselves as the "4th Brand", showing there is some respect amongst its roster. A sorta "When we are in that ring, I will fuck you up, but outside, you've earned my respect" like how Sasha and Charolette did when Rusev said women are kitchen fodder, but more manly, and less make Rusev look like a bitch.
Then if that goes significantly well, have it leak into the main roster, with attacks on Raw and Smackdown. Its like a homegrown mini Invasion. Could have an insane 3 vs 3 vs 3 vs 3 for Survivor Series one year. NXT vs Raw vs Smackdown vs Hardcore Brand.
Edit: Have Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as the clear top tier in that brand to cement that kinda story telling. Friends but proffesional enemies

That was a disappointing ending. It used to be that Vince coming meant something special was going to happen.
