I think when you get into top 5's as it pertains to wrestling you need to look at it from different aspects. Best in ring, best personality, and ability to transcend Pro Wrestling. The Rock is unquestionably the biggest star Pro Wrestling has ever produced. Hogan a very distant 2nd. Then coming up the rear you have your Stone Cold's and your Flair's.

When it comes to ring work, you're looking more at your AJ Styles, Bret Hart's, etc. Where their mic work wasn't the strongest, but their ring work far surpassed anyone else of their generation.

Of course where does a guy like Brock Lesnar fit into the list?

I don't think Hogan is as far behind The Rock as you said. I remember as a young kid. Wrestling was not main stream. If you watched it. You kind of hid it. But Hogan was everywhere. Talk shows. Movies. MTV. Everyone in my school knew Hulkamania Brother. Then when the NWO came along brother. Hollywood was the shit. He was main stream for 10-15 years. Brought Wrestlemania to the front lines. Then set fire to the Monday night wars.

The rock is a huge star in movies now. But I would like to have seen him wrestle a bit longer to cement himself in my top 5. No question. He could've been the GOAT if he had of stayed with it. He could walk in right now and be the best. But. He's smart for getting out. Look at Hogans knees. Austins knees and neck. At least the Rock walked away on his own terms.

In the end. I just rambled and made no point to back up my opinion. Except that the rock is awesome and smart....

Which is why I specified that it was about his ability to transcend. The Rock is the biggest money maker Hollywood has ever seen. He was named sexiest man alive last year. Let that sink in. Hogan could never dream of that type of mainstream appeal.

True. That's why I started off with an argument and circled back with a agreement lol.

I think that just makes Rock a great personality and celebrity. Which is successful in its own regard, but wouldn't say that makes him the best wrestler specifically.

Conor McGregor is the shit, and I have jumped on and off and then back on that bandwagon more than any other fighter, and made my boy Nate Diaz a star, but wouldn't say he is the greatest MMA Fighter of all time. Even my non MMA fans were asking about his fights. Guy is huge. But greatest fighter of all time?

Pro wrestling and MMA are completely different, yes, but using McGregor as an example because he is basically Ric Flair and Ted DiBiase.

In the realm of pro wrestling, would have to agree with Bozy abit that its about the *wrestling career* itself. Now, transcending above it and becoming a star all on your own without that platform is pretty incredible, but personally would not relate the two.

Rambles. Rambles for everyone!
