Yea, they call it in on one of the audio tapes. They went up the stairs after getting the elevators shut down and a cop says he has a security guard that’s been shot on the 32nd floor. He gets closer and confirms the 32nd floor.

Wonder why the 1st story was that he was shot after the crowd was shot when they obviously knew this from the beginning
I think from the first shot to SWAT entering the room was 72 minutes. You have a lot of initial confusion on where the shots are coming from, casualties being called in while the location is trying to be determined, people calling 911, then the actual search of the Mandalay. I can see it taking that long. Unfortunate effect of an urban ambush with first responders not trained in that situation.
Don't know if they've confirmed or not but the sheriff will misspeaks and say 2 days anyways so who knows
This is the video that I thought we’d have seen by now. If the story is true the video would show a pretty dramatic moment where the guard is misssed by the other 199 bullets. Plus it would have been an easy way to quite critics saying that it took so long for them to get in the room.
Not sure. The audio you or someone else posted has the moment the officer that confirmed Stephen was on the 32nd floor found the security guard shot.

Maybe Mandalay should have called in their shot security to save a couple minutes since I dunno, they knew where the shooter was

They also didn’t go into immediate lock down and shut off the elevators. Police had to call them to tell them this. I would think large places like this would have some active shooter procedures.
Yes I think that’s true. I heard they have to wait on swat. And apparently swat is a group of police that have to get the call, meet at base, then respond. Someone please correct me if this is incorrect. Can’t remember who I heard this from.
