Watched “The Adam Project” on Netflix over the weekend. I didn’t have high expectations but was very happily surprised. Ryan Reynolds plays his typical sarcastic/humorous self, but the kid actor steals the show. He is fantastic. The movie has a little bit of everything (humor, drama, action, heart). I was happily surprised and would recommend it if you are looking more for entertainment than Oscar contention.
watch it by yourself or with kids?

Just finished Mayor of Kingstown

Decent show. Good acting. The self-righteous mom annoyed the fucking piss out of me. She should have been cut from the entire show. Adds nothing.

Watching unsolved mysteries.

Interesting but frustrating as I like closure

I felt like they toned down the Reynolds effect to let the kid be the star.

Creed II - 7/10

Not as good as the first but found it more entertaining than most in the Rocky franchise.

"bad vegan"

not missing anything if you never see it. but it was an easy watch. main girl is cute. but the entire story is so dumb. not the documentary story-telling, but the story of the crime. its like wtf... theres no such thing as immortality for your dog. grow up

and the dude is the utmost douche. how does any girl spend any amount of time with a sad, little dude who has temper tantrums like a toddler

I watched the trailer and wondered how naive a person could be.
I figured watching it might give some insight but it sounds like maybe not.

dont get me wrong. i was just being conservative with my review. it wasnt life-changing by any means

but i dont regret watching it

case in point, i has intended on pausing halfway through episode 1 after finishing my morning tea, showering, downloading episode 2, and listening as i was grocery shopping...

but instead, 2 of 3 teas later, i had finished the doc on 1.5x speed while still sitting at the table lol

That’s interesting that you can just listen to it.
And this watching things at 1.5x fascinates me. I understand it but still fascinating.

bad vegan review amendment

i am not the type to keep watching something simply because i started it or because its a global hit. case in point, i started bridgerton earlier this week, got through episode 1 after two tries. and gave up on the show midway through episode 2

that speaks to how i actually enjoyed "bad vegan" despite it being pretty dumb at its core lol

above 1x listening/watching

- for audible and youtube news, 1.5x to 2.5x is a must otherwise i cannot pay attention
- there may be an exception for fiction, since the musical score is part of the story-telling. but im not even sold on that being an issue
- so my conclusion is that a weekly show at 1x is aight. but binging HBO series at 1x is painful compared to binging something on Netflix at 1.5x

shopping

shopping while listening to shows is a new thing for me, but im probably going to stop since i tend to end up rewatching that episode when i get home anyway

i dont audiobook anymore while shopping for the same reason

instead, im going to go back to joe rogan podcasts. cause they are the type of thing i wont rewind out of fear that i missed something important since im less vested in them

I went back and started watching all the original ones but I had to stop about midway through season nine because I was starting to freak myself out. I was scared of people staring in the window when I went downstairs at night.
It's sooo good. I really don't think anything comes close to it and I totally get what you mean about being freaked out lol. The ghosts and aliens always spooked me. I loved the two Netflix seasons they made recently and hope they make another one...

I did, too. I was hoping they just had a Covid holdup but I haven’t heard anything recently.

I've been on Spring Break this week and have been very lazy even though I could be doing school work.

I finished a show I have been watching on and off for a month called Secret Royal Inspector and Joy... Only took me all that time because of school.
I've watched Bring it on Ghost! about a guy that can see (and fights) ghosts. He meets a girl ghost who is different and it's a whole thing.
I am now watching The Game: Towards Zero about a guy that can see the moment a person dies when he looks at them. Only on the first episode and I stopped because I really have to start writing this paper about the Middle East.

That's about it for now.
