K @kaladin stormblessed your comments being disabled by YouTube is fucking stupid.
it keeps automatically disabling comments due to minors being in the video

But It's such bullshit. Firsr off, because they are actors, not real life people.

Second, because netflixs own channel has the same kids in their videos and comments are allowed

And other youtube channels have no issues with the comments

It has alot of consequences too. Comments are engagement. So the lack of comments is bad for the algorithm

On top of that, people see it and assume I'm some pussy who can't take criticism. So theu thumbs down and close out the video, which also impacts performance in the algorithm

I thought he disabled them?
Nope. Youtube pulls that shit sometimes automatically when the system detects minors in a video

It happend to my first raised by wolves video. So I stopped doing those

And its happened to every single stranger things video this year.

I have already flipped it back to "approve all comments" around 8 times in the last 3 hours

After a day of doing this, youtube eventually stopped disabling comments on my other stranger things videos. But by then, the damage is already done

Fucken annoying

That is really fucking annoying. I don’t understand YouTube’s inability to keep things fair for all creators. They pick and choose who they let have free reign of the platform.
They hurt small creators and then wonder why so many are leaving.

Exactly. I haven't even looked at views bc of that. So thank you for letting me know I've got 500 views in 3 hours lol

In other words, the video is dead from the start. 21 hours of work down the drain

now the comments are showing and you have 40+ more views
What was your previous thumbnail?

I keep changing it to allow comments. But the system changes it back. So this won't last long

prior thumbnail was Ones head inside upside down. So he was half burnt and effed up, but not quite Vecna yet

The picture was from an ep 8 or 9 scene, but the same guy was already showed at the very end of episode 7 which aired on May 27th

It's annoying that commentor was mad about spoilers. First off, bc I don't want to spoil shit

Secondly, because I intentionally choose to sacrifice clicks by not doing a certain type of proven thumbnail on "ending explained" type videos so as to not spoil stuff

As an example, the thumbnails with a circle, highlighting something important and an arrow pointing to it are proven to work. The arrow catches the eye. And humans minds see something in a circle and are like "derp. What's that? Let me click"

So even tho most people consider those thumbnails annoying, they work. And I don't do them since they are spoilery by nature

Mine wasn't spoilery if you have seen episodes 1-7. And if you haven't, I don't know what to tell ya. It came out over a month ago. That's past the statue of limitations

Here's an example. For season 4 part 1, it would have been douchey to use that final image of you know who. So I used a generic vecna.

But for seaosn 4 part 2, the picture I used was fine imo

No. That’s not at all a spoiler and was definitely shown in P1. He’s just a fucking moron and clearly wasn’t paying attention.

You're too kind. I am a tool tho, so I felt bad. But I changed it back cause i think this thumbnail is much cooler and more likely to get clicks
Definitely much cooler. It’s not entirely discernible that is one, plus I’m pretty sure that you would have had to avoid the internet from May 27th to not know that fact.

Yeh. I'm not even worried about it being discernible for that reason

If I had uploaded the final shot of him in episode 7 in my part 1 video (which I removed), that would've spoiled stuff for people at the time

But statue of limitations. And its not spoilery for part 2

I’d say 10 days or so should be the statute, especially in this day and age. Might even been too long. ?

That's the timeline I visualize as well because it gives people two weekends to see the content. After that it's fair game

It's annoying tho. Bc people are much more likely to click when they see something related to the big reveal as opposed to something generic

Some youtubers do that. They get the clicks at the expense of spoiling stuff and pissing off people

But I genuinely don't want to spoil shit. So I knowingly sacrifice clicks, which is why that dudes comment annoyed me earlier today

I'm thinking "raising an attitude with me. little does this fucker know how I do my best to not spoil at the expense of my own bread"

Dick Niaz @Dick Niaz

Only murders has started very slowly for me.

Its shot beautifully. Acting great. But the pace is glacial. Like a pod cast.

Eeking out every nuance.

I'm not sure.

Will try and continue for you.

It won’t blow your mind, but once we got into the characters, we got hooked

Will give it 3 eps for sure. Prolly 4 cos of you.

The acting is superb. I love Steve Martin. The colour tone is amazing.

Also. Just as an aside. Selena is the spit of starlight in the boys. But with black hair.

Disagree on Selena Gomez/Erin Moriarty but I’d be happy to take a closer look just to be sure

On the last episode of "Terminal List" on Prime. It started a little slow, but turns into a fun little mystery. It's based on a novel of the same name. It's more like an 8 hour movie than 8 - 1 hour episodes, so don't expect non-stop action, but it would fall into the "action" genre, and it has some solid violence.

I'm also a sucker for both Chris Pratt and JD Pardo. So...

I love Chris's Pratt. And the author seemed pretty chill. But he came across as a lover of American wars, and I've got too much "get off my lawn" energy to support him on principle lol

I'll probably watch it some day tho. Pratt is one of the list of 3 people I'd have lunch with if possible

Pratt, Anna Kendrick, and TBd since Im not sure I'd enjoy Neil degrasse nowadays

It's not about glorifying wars I can promise you that. Beyond that, I'll be giving away too much plot.
