Devers is waking up
He is. Figured he would.
He's hitting .366 so far in April.

He was a little butthurt about the Bregman signing and being moved to DH. There can be an adjustment there. Not playing the field is weird. Being strictly a hitter is a different mindset.

Astros fans behaving just like their team does.
Cheating.

LOL @ the 180 the announcers do here.
Yes, if the ball is in foul territory the fan has the same right to catch the ball as the player does. But you can't rip it out of the fucking players glove - which is definitely what looks like what happened here.

Watched some junior high kids today, hadn't been to a baseball game in 20 years...noticed pitchers don't use the full wind up when no runners are on base anymore, every pitcher started in the stretch...was a bit strange to see.

Plan on going to Coors, Target Field, and Wrigley this summer.

That is odd for everyone to start in the stretch. My guess is the coach wanted everyone comfortable with coming in to a game with runners in scoring position.

When I pitched it was common for the full over-the-head wind up to be used - Nolan Ryan style. I started doing it that way, but caught the bill of my cap a few times and it threw my timing off. It made me think "Why the fuck do pitchers even do that?". This was like 4th grade. I actually asked my coach if it was a rule that I had to take my hands over my head during a full wind up. Haha. From then on I just did a hitch-type thing moving my hand position from belt to chin during my step back and leg kick. Felt way more balanced. I did that the rest of my "career".

Nowadays, very few pitchers go over the head with the windup.
They obviously got a hold of my game film from the 90s.

I've been to Coors and Wrigley.

At Coors - get tickets along the 1st base side so you get a solid view of the mountains and possibly a solid sunset if you are at a night game. In right field they have a large area set up for beer consumption. Benches set up with USB phone chargers and cup-holders that are refrigerated to keep your beer cold. Tickets are dirt cheep because the Rockies suck, and with that there was a TON of college-aged kids at the game just hanging out paying fuck-all attention to the game. They also have a row of purple seats that go all the way around the stadium that signifies 1 mile above sea level. Pretty cool.

There are plenty of places immediately outside the stadium to grab a drink and some food. Fans were cool.

Wrigley is just a shit show. It's an old stadium so it sort of is what it is. Tiny concourse around the stadium. Some of the bathrooms are updated, but others you are just shoulder-to-shoulder with drunks pissing in a trough that runs the entire length of the bathroom. The parking sucks. Like really bad. Unless you are getting there crazy early - I'd park outside of the area and take an Uber in. The fans were fine despite me being decked out in Reds gear on a day we thumped their asses. Be careful buying tickets - I've been fucked by obscured views before. I know I listed a lot of negatives here - but it's still a lot of fun. The nostalgia of the field is very cool - and outside of the park both before and after games is an absolute blast.

I usually ignore stats early in the season, but we are roughly 20% in and the stats Aaron Judge has put up thus far are absolutely bonkers.

He's slashing .430 / .521 / .777

If he keeps this up, it actually becomes stupid to give him anything he can reach with a bat.
Think Barry Bonds circa 2004 when he was intentionally walked 120 times.

He's the best hitter in baseball right now and it's not even close.

Hunter Greene has been absolutely dominant.
He's definitely in the CY conversation.

4-2
2.53 ERA; 0.82 WHIP
55 Ks in 42 innings.

One of those losses was a 7 inning performance against the Rangers where he gave up only 3 hits and 1 run with 8 K's.

Last night's 2nd inning. 2 swinging strikes and a sword:

This is a solid idea for MLB. Although most of these are more of a border war than an actual rivalry.

Most are obvious, but we have some outliers in here...
I don't really get the Braves @ Red Sox. Maybe because Atlanta was originally a Boston franchise?
Mariners @ Padres? Rockies @ D-Backs?

I don't watch much AL ball - but every time I see the new Cleveland logo I fucking laugh.
So retarded.
