I'm sure it can be multiple things. I'm not a rocket surgeon.mine was pretty choppy too but i chalked it up to having 2 streams playing and a live thread open at the same time my CPU was working overtime

ben made 830k on his ufc fights aloneI don't think Ben has a lot of money saved up after his UFC washout and that's why he took the fight. I don't see Maia as being desperate for cash.
Show your work. The fight purse discussion isn't worth having given that we know that represents only a portion of a fighter's earnings. You can add up all of Derrick Lewis' earning, subtract it from what he owns and know that the math doesn't come close to adding up.
.
YouuuuuuuCan't. I'm taking his word for it.
I'm not avoiding justifying anything. I'm avoiding a dishonest interaction with someone looking to hurl petty insults.
looking at articles around the time of ben signing with ONE he either made 1 million dollars over a 2 year period or got 50/50 to fight for them . i am going to go with 50/50 .he fought 7x so he made at least 700k plus chatri gave him a lambo . bellator probably paid him dogshit when he was the champ over there. they were still in the bjorn years and not really paying anyone big bucks . askren has to have some kind of money . he lives in cedar rapids iowa so his house is probably worth 250k max. now he pockets a half mil for this fight . ben is doing alright
On top of the academies, I think his podcast is also relatively popular. But I have no idea what kind of revenue that generates for him. Some do well, but I can’t imagine he makes a ton off of the podcast.Let's say he made $4million over his career. Pays his 40% taxes, has a couple kids, buys a house, gets a new hip and that money is cut in half or less. So he's got $2 million left to live for 60 years. My guess would be that he's lost a lot of money through his wrestling school particularly during covid and he knows his MMA days are long gone. If he didn't need the money I can't think of any other reason for him to have taken the fight.
Don't get me wrong. I don't think he's flat broke. But I also don't think he's rolling in cash or he would take that kind of a fight for $500k (even a million) if he knew he was going to be living comfortably into his 90's.On top of the academies, I think his podcast is also relatively popular. A quick google just informed me that Ben made $830,500 during his short UFC stint.Don't get me wrong. I don't think he's flat broke. It's less than I'd have expected. I figured he'd be $250/$250.A quick google just informed me that Ben made $830,500 during his short UFC stint.
not bad, higher than I would’ve guessed
I really had zero idea what his pay scale was. But knowing his history with Dana, I assumed it would’ve been lower. It's less than I'd have expected. I figured he'd be $250/$250.
its probably the only fight being offered to him and no one is offering a 500k payday on bens best day. this was most likely bens last kick at the can for his biggest payday ever. he probably overestimated his ability because he is a pro fighter and underestimated jake paul because he is a clownLet's say he made $4million over his career. This seems like an accurate assessment.its probably the only fight being offered to him and no one is offering a 500k payday on bens best day. this was most likely bens last kick at the can for his biggest payday ever. he probably overestimated his ability because he is a pro fighter and underestimated jake paul because he is a clown
The man does take a loss like a champ.
