While boycotting can be involved in cancel culture it would be a stretch to say they mean the same thing.
 
Someone saying that me not wanting to buy bud light because of their social image amounts to cancel culture is retarded.


Now, all the memes implying anyone who drinks bud light is gay, I agree that would be considered a form of cancel culture.

In the cases we're discussing, the boycott is the result of social ostracism.

People don't boycott something they like.

I think he had a fund raiser hosted by their CEO or something like that. That's AB trying to mend those fences. And Trump will say about anything if there's enough green behind it.

Either way - the point has been made. AB - and hopefully other companies - learned a very valuable (and expensive) lesson.
