It's also called a tailpiece. Speaking of which, can you determine this one? It's on an sg 400 pro. It's definitely not OEM and I would think it would devalue the guitar.View attachment 35170

Bigsby can be a type of tailpiece but most tailpieces aren't Bigsby's.

Regarding that guitar, it appears to be some aftermarket knockoff Bigsby and in my opinion yes, would devalue the guitar. Personally if I wanted an SG I'd save a little more and look for a used Gibson Faded so Special. They usually run in the $7-800 range. A Gibson SG standard can be found around $1k with some patience.

I don't need to save, just more than I wanted to spend based on how little I actually play.
The les paul custom wouldve been nice but I'm happy with the SG400 I got it at a great price so I'm happy.
Maybe if I dedicate time to playing consistently I'll look into getting something high end

KJP is awesome, I've seen him live a couple of times. Last time was like 15 years ago in a small town outside of Austin. There were only like 15 people there.....it was awesome. I bought him a beer after his set.

i saw him open for BB King in ~ 95.

stole the show. Last time I saw him was a few years ago when I lived in PDX. IIRC he lives in WA, but I saw him a bunch when I lived up there.
