You can swap "worried" with "concerned" and the statement still stands.because you misinterpret what I mean when I say 'more worried'...
i'm not worried like you think I'm worried. i adapted quick and early.

'more worried' is relative. It's a vector without magnitude. You can swap "worried" with "concerned" and the statement still stands.
We can do this all day. Point is you're more concerned with something that might never be instead of what is, chicken little.'more worried' is relative. It's a vector without magnitude.
little early for the ad hominem, but I've got all day.We can do this all day. Point is you're more concerned with something that might never be instead of what is, chicken little.
So you're concerned about the vaccine being 93% effective, but not 95? Lol, k.little early for the ad hominem, but I've got all day.
you're projecting your fear on what I wrote. It's not a hypothetical doomsday scenario, it's 5-10% reduction in efficacy of the vaccine.
and it happened (at least in part) because we sucked at being responsible and rational. I haven't seen a big jump in rational, responsible behavior, so it warrants more concern than something I can literally do nothing about - namely, The Way Things Are.
That's a higher rate than the polio vaccine...It shouldn't be the goal to out retard each other. The vaccine is 95% effective against symptomatic covid. People are getting very, very carried away with what this vaccine is.
My understanding of polio was that it was vaccinations in tandem with not shitting in our food and water supplies that wiped it out and not vaccines alone. That being said, I did not, and am not, suggesting people not get the vaccine. People seem to be under the illusion that with 80 (or whatever) % of the population that we go back to normal. I'm pointing out that covid is here to stay and dying of/with covid is going to be a thing probably until the end of civilization. That's a higher rate than the polio vaccine...
I think you're being overly pragmatic to the point of pessimistic. My understanding of polio was that it was vaccinations in tandem with not shitting in our food and water supplies that wiped it out and not vaccines alone. What you're saying with the cold or flu is essentially what I'm predicting. Even after the vaccine rolls in we can still probably expect to lose 10s of thousands of people to it per year as we do with the flu. The other thing I was alluding to is that the vaccine prevents 95% of people from getting covid and having symptoms but as far as I'm aware that doesn't mean they can't still get it and spread it.I think you're being overly pragmatic to the point of pessimistic.
Small pox is also in the 90/95% efficacy range.
The key is to get it going in enough people that it becomes more of a non-issue and manageable like a cold or even the flu instead of something where your life needs to stop for a while if you're even around someone that was infected.
The small pox vaccine is a blast. What you're saying with the cold or flu is essentially what I'm predicting. The cynical part of me thinks this vaccine roll out is basically going to be used by our political leaders as cover for not accepting responsibility for the piss poor handling of covid and that by the time we've reached herd immunity through vaccination the virus will have already run through most of who it would have anyways.
Regarding smallpox I believe when you're contagious with it you show physical symptoms which makes it easier to keep out of a community than something like covid.
as I wrote, I'm concerned that the problem that got us a new strain of the vaccine hasn't been addressed. So you're concerned about the vaccine being 93% effective, but not 95? Lol, k.
You really need to look at how the rest of the world is doing while you rip on American and British handling of covid. Here's a hint, no one is doing well.
Lol. Are you serious?as I wrote, I'm concerned that the problem that got us a new strain of the vaccine hasn't been addressed.
No one is doing well, but few are doing as bad as US and UK...
How are Hong Kong, Czech Republic, Canada, Taiwan, or New Zealand doing?
I'm afraid I don't follow.The small pox vaccine is a blast.
Lol. Are you asking a rhetorical question?Lol. Are you serious?
You get some sweet boils in the spot they pick you, numerous times.I'm afraid I don't follow.
Canada and Czech are doing poorly. Taiwan and New Zealand are both small islands which makes containing spread easier for what should be obvious reasons. I don't know a ton about Hong Kong, but they were effectively living in a police state in the months leading up to covid, so I suspect keeping people at home hasn't been a major undertaking.Lol. Are you asking a rhetorical question?
Do they call them "miniature pox"? Because they should. You get some sweet boils in the spot they pick you, numerous times.
oh - you're offended I included the UK in the same 'flunking recess' category as the USCanada and Czech are doing poorly. America is the runaway loser because it's a country of people who flatly refuse to take care of themselves. I figured that would be pretty obvious.
Lol. I have no particular affinity toward the U.K.. I was under the impression that they had a lot of people over 65, people under 65 who were generally unhealthy, and if you couple that with an early policy of "let it ride" and population density it seems like a field day for covid. They're generally a fairly compliant population and I thought had been under lockdown restrictions for a while but once covid is endemic (as it is in most places) you're just trying to delay the inevitable.oh - you're offended I included the UK in the same 'flunking recess' category as the US
and he's arrested.@redneck is going to need bail money, guys.
Wisconsin health system: Worker deliberately spoiled vaccine
A Wisconsin health system said Wednesday that 500 doses of coronavirus vaccine that had to be discarded after they were left unrefrigerated now appear to have been deliberately spoiled by an employee. Aurora Medical Center first reported on the spoiled doses on Saturday, and said they had been...news.yahoo.com
