As a school employee I have access to it. The state rollout was so terrible it was almost impossible for anyone to get an appointment as the website continued to crash. My county decided to pull back last week and only do 85 and older nonstop for 10 days or so.
I think Canada's vaccine rollout might give you a run for your money. JT out all our eggs in the China basket then half way through development China told Canada "Lulz, we're not actually sending you any vaccine to trial." So Canada is dependent on getting Pfizer doses from the EU and Moderna from wherever. In both cases Camada has basically been cut off, I think we have like 1.2% of the population that's been vaccinated at this point and nothing coming in. All of our long term care homes were supposed to be done by the end of January and not only has that not happened it probbaly won't happen by the end of February.
It's cool though because this week JT announced that we're getting serious about the situation and building our own vaccine production facility. It will be completed sometime in early 2022 and they're planning to produce a vaccine that still hasn't been trialed. Much like your previous Twilight Zone analogy the general public doesn't seem to think any of this is a major issue.
Oh, to top it all off America is making the vaccine way faster than they can possibly administer it and it apparently hasn't occurred to JT to publicly beg for a few doses.

Well, we have vaccinated exactly 0 people so far, so we are well in the lead in the retard race, and believe it or not your 'we don't even have vaccines' strategy may actually be better than what we are going to do.
We just secured another 5 million people's worth of Pfizer. So the government is planning on giving 10 million people a vaccine that works, and the remaining 16 million people one that doesn't really (AstraZeneca). Anyone living outside the bigger cities is going to get the one that doesn't work properly.
To be playing a game of flip the coin with a vaccination campaign has moral and economic catastrophe written all over it. When vaccinated people start dying from covid (because they were given the shit one), it will completely cripple the needed second campaign when they try to bring everyone back for a second vaccination run, once they finally have enough stock of Pfizer.

And you've now created a divided society between those who know they are safe and those who don't, but the properly vaccinated people may still be able to spread the virus. So now you have a large segment of the population that can operate with relative impunity, able to ignore the protocols in place needed to protect the rest of the population.
And again, bizarrely, there is only a few non-spastics who realize what a disaster this could be in all sorts of ways.
Now, this problem would be less of an issue if the policy was 'look, we only have enough Pfizer for the elderly and sick, healthy people will have to take AstraZeneca because it's better than nothing'. But instead it's 'we are going to use the Pfizer on young healthy people and give the old people who aren't in aged care homes AstraZeneca'.
It's madness, and yet people think it's totally rational.

Did your government attempt to get any Moderna vaccines? I know most production facilities are U.S.-based and we aren't exporting anything right now but I believe there's at least one Moderna-partnered production facility in Switzerland.
I don't know if they tried or not, but the result is that we have none and there's no word that we will get any.
Our entire policy has been bizarrely based on supply chains and self-sufficiency, rather than making sure the vaccines work. All we needed to do was spend a little more diversifying our vaccine portfolio, but instead put all of our chips on the vaccines that were most convenient.
We tried to make our own vaccine - smart - but we fucked it up. We have the capacity to produce vaccines - smart - but we can only produce the vaccines that don't work.
We didn't like Pfizer or Moderna because they are difficult to distribute. But a child should know that these issues are irrelevant if they are the only ones that actually work.
And the worst part of all is that we could easily produce the Russian vaccine here, which the Lancet has just established is 92% effective. But because of cold war politics, we are going to shoot up our population with an ineffective version of the Russian vaccine (which is what AstraZeneca is) instead.
That's a lot of words to say Australia sucks.
Any idea where you folks are supposed to be getting your Pfizer vaccines from? Because EU just put export controls on them which is a big part of why our contracts aren't being fulfilled by Pfizer or Moderna in Spain.
