Fucking ridiculous making small kids where masks.
Just saw a close friend of my lady this week.
She has the kids (ages 3, 4, 5, 6) all wearing masks inside the house as much as possible.
Says they aren't gonna travel until they are all 5 years old and have been fully vaccinated(5 is the earliest age they can get the "jab")

My lady looked at me with a *you will make no comment* look, I said nothing. Later we both agreed she is now a semi crazy person, it is very sad to see.

All I can say is I have learned a lot about how fear based somef people's lives are through the last 2 years.

They all better wear masks around each other then

If your gonna take precautions you gotta do your part
thanks for catching up on "things that have been known about masks since before the pandemic"

specifically, that masks are highly effective at preventing the spread of infection amongst people living together.

it's real science. sorry if wearing a facial covering threatens your manhood.
haha
hilarious

Nice strawman

I don't go around people when I am sick and I expect the same from them, that is all.

We still have all types of silly mandates still, so I probably wear one more often than you do at this point FYI

Sciencetm ?
no. real science. It was a study of kids wearing masks, found that wearing masks in the household when sick was clearly beneficial. IIRC 80% transmission reduction. don't quote me.

research was done in Japan years ago, but now google is clogged with mask debate stuff and I can't find it.

:)

nah. I wear mine all the time. I'm not saying that masks are a panacea, but it's crazy that something so very much No-Cost/High-Gain as masks in a pandemic is still being argued.

Fuck Fauci. Fuck Trump.

but they still put signs on grocery stores to wear shoes and can't bring your dog in...no accounting for some behaviors.

I read it, you posted it before

I was just making the science TM joke

I'm not into healthy uninfected people mandated to wear masks all day every day is all, that isn't supposed to be a science thing...just my opinion and choice.

I don't have a problem with people wearing them, just the mandates and hypocrisy of some of the requirements.
We still have outdoor mask mandate here, Duck football games are holding 63,000 drunk people in the stadium every saturday and preaching mask wearing...its just silly...dont go to the stadium if you want to avoid other peoples air and viruses and everything else coming out of their pieholes.

I don't doubt they can under some conditions reduce spread a bit. There is no need to prove that to me.

I respect your choice.

How much of the population where you live wears them in stores, entering restaurants, and indoor shared areas?

Here we have 95% wearing them, probably 50% of those are wearing them properly, we are mandated of course(although some stores no longer are telling people to leave or to put one on). People even wear them when they hike and kayak around here.

probably about half.

If I'm in a crowd with a bunch of people outdoors, I'll wear one...like when I pick my kid up from school. It's a really really low risk activity, but zero inconvenience to just put it on when I walk up. Otherwise I wear it indoors pretty religiously. If someone in the house is sick they wear a mask if they're around someone else.

i don't agree with mandates, in case I haven't been direct.
But I don't think mandates are even a consideration if people have access to accurate information. The outright lies by political/"health" leadership is appalling.

I know you don't support those, I realize that.

Our local news and the sources the big oregon cities push aren't about accurate info, it is all fear all the time. Accurate and honest info never had a chance here, it has only divided the willamette valley population.

Sucks but true. There really isn't any risk consideration here by most, it is just do's and don't's regardless of situation or risk. Blueland life.

hope I grammar triggered somebody there

Key words: within household

Living in such close quarters, not much is going to stop the spread unless you’re all using separate bathrooms and doing a stringent cleaning regime in the common areas.
Go get another booster before you kill everyone

I mostly find it funny that this is news. If the vaccine doesn't prevent transmission outside of the home, there's no fucking way it's going to work inside.

There's also a layer of humor to it, because if you go and get a test here because you're symptomatic you're told "You need to self isolate until you have your negative test result, but anyone in your household who's vaccinated doesn't have to isolate."
