does freezing temperature kill viruses in general?

Many times, no.
If in an envelope like the coronavirus, a freeze thaw freeze is more likely to disrupt that and they can denature then quickly 'die'. But if you quickly freeze infected snot the virus can probably be reactivated upon a single thawing.
Similar things can happen for certain bacteria (others die) and you could even reanimate ancient bacteria and virus and they can still infect, which has been done. And which is kind of scary. Like war of the world's germ theory.

That's really handy to know. Husband and I both had colds recently but knew as soon as the sneezing started it wasn't a Corona problem.
I'm kind of avoiding mass crowds at the moment because I've got an ex smoker's cough going on and I don't want to worry people.

Can't find a link other than this that mentions the family count...

Coronavirus in New York: 13 Confirmed Cases

But apparently 100+ families and neighbors totaling near 500 people have been quarantined in NYC related to people that have been in contact with confirmed cases there.

A virus in NYC seems like an impossible thing to control.

Half of it is not true, such as drinking warm water will do anything for your respiratory virus.
I think saying half is a little disingenuous. I agree that drinking warm water is bullshit. I imagine the premise would be to raise the body temperature to kill the virus which would be impossible.
What else do you consider to be false?

And the picking your nose unwittingly part. Such a lie. You know it isn't unwittingly.
Just being polite. Just have to double down on the not eating your findings part :D

I've definitely been more aware buying antibacterial soap and dish soap rather than what smells nicest, more aware of how often I put a finger in my mouth and eyes. I've got nose piercings so I'm always fiddling with them, it's all a potential hot bed.

I'm on the go but the shorthand is that gargling's not going to help you. is it bad to hydrate? No. But it doesn't really have anything to do with catching the Corona virus if you're not dying in a desert.
If you have nasal congestion And sputum
you could still have Corona virus. Cough and fever are the two most common non-specific symptoms. Not sore throat. Sore throat is present in plenty but it is not as prevalent as cough and them kind of hanging the hat on that being the first sign of Corona virus isn't really accurate.

crowded places like NYC is where virus thrives, like China and S.Korea
