You mean group activities like parties?

Well, it took 4 months, but you got there.

Attn: @Hauler he figured it out!
lost me.

people acting irresponsibly by going to work or social activities while feeling sick are not responsible enough to wear a mask.
But when all the responsible people wear masks, the irresponsible people really stand out.

They where masks where they're required to by law. At that point they decide they've done their part.

Unless we're going to publish their names and picture so they can be publicly shamed, that's not exactly a lot of help.

but if the law didn't require it, they wouldn't wear it at all. I know it sounds hollow but I don't think gov't has a moral authority to tell people what to wear or how to behave. But they have a moral obligation to share information and lead in the best interest of the public.

so if leadership led responsibly, they would have been on TV in February telling everyone to make and wear masks to preserve respirators and health care capacity for the care of sick essential workers. Then it would be easy to identify the irresponsible people because they'd be the ones not wearing masks.

instead, we get outright lies from those entrusted with our health, and politicization of health issues. It's crazy world.

Cases were substantially lower when those people weren't wearing them. We peaked in April/May and were on a steady decline. When they weren't wearing them they knew they had to stay away from people. When they were given the silver bullet that is the mask, they started wearing the mask in accordance with the law and other protocols flew out the window.

I agree, but without a time machine it's not relevant.

how do you know you're not observing a proximity effect, or failing to correct for perceptual bias?
What you're saying makes sense, but so do other explanations.

The statistics from March until now, and the information being received from those testing positive bears out that 2 weeks ago very irresponsible behavior began in the community. Our spike over the last 2 weeks has been more rapid than our spike at the outset of covid. On the day masks were introduced we had 40 active cases and 0 new cases. The weeks leading up to the mask ban had low single digit new case days dotted with 0's. I was extremely hopeful that by August we'd have a week without any new cases, but the behavior I saw accompany these now very brave souls wearing masks told me we were going to be in some trouble. It's crazy how fast it's spreading at this point. Today's new cases total is higher than out total cases were when masks came into effect. I'm expecting to be rolled back a stage of reopening within the next 3 weeks.

Here's more from the Melbourne 'quarantine' hotel debacle.

Turns out a lot of the guards didn't even know they were going to be working in quarantine.

Bro, you know we don't speak conspiracy. Help us out a little here.
haha, I know that isn't the first time you have heard of that Topic.

My post? It was a joke...mostly

But if you didn't catch the other posts about Event 201 very early in the thread, then it is an easy google away...but here is a link

Of course it was just an exercise but the fact it took place 9 months ago made me include it in my dark joke about our current times.

So I ask please...pass me some more of that Event 201. I need more of that sweet event 201!
Lets get this party started!

I'd love to say that DeSantis will lose reelection because of this, but that's still 2 years away and Florida hasn't had a Democrat governor since before the turn of the century.

In Florida, social interactions began to increase sharply after the Phase 1 reopening in early May, then again with Phase 2 and South Florida’s reopening in early June. Lansing said that by the week of June 17, social interactions reached its pandemic peak and the state began to see record numbers of new cases.

But the troubling headlines as the state becomes one of the nation’s focal points of the pandemic seem to have taken an effect on Floridians’ willingness to interact. Lansing said the state is seeing social interactions decrease and he expects that trend to continue in the days ahead if Florida follows patterns seen in other states.
