Part of my brain refuses to accept that a genuinely senile old man whose campaign has been a trainwreck both finacially and substantively until a few days ago could suddenly turn it around and start dominating.

But the other part accepts that you can just never exaggerate the level of stupidity among the general population. They're voting for Biden mainly because he is 'electable'. It's just madness. Trump will win one of the biggest landslides in history, if not the biggest.
No idea why people are having such problems doing basic math. As I make this post, the difference between Bernie and Biden is 45 delegates.

There are 415 delegates in California, where Bernie is expected to win big.

By the end of the night Bernie will be ahead.

Yep it's crazy how much California and Texas mean in terms of delegates compared to the smaller states Biden has won tonight...

No, I understand the math perfectly. It's not about squeezing out a victory. If Bernie can't get an outright majority, which is looking increasingly unlikely, then he's fucked at the convention. He doesn't necessarily need an outright majority, but he needs at least a strong plurality to make screwing him untenable. If Biden is close enough, then the party establishment will fall in line behind him.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if Bernie Sanders has the highest number of pledged delegates and still gets fucked out of the nomination, there is going to be anarchy. People underestimate how fanatical Bernie bros are.

The level of anarchy will be relative to how big Bernie's plurality is. If he has a massive lead and they screw him, then people go nuts about democracy being subverted. But if it's a close-run thing, the pro-Biden media will be exhaustively explaining to people 'hey, this is just how the delegate system works'. It will be drilled into people's heads that pluralities don't matter.

I live in a 'democracy' where 4 Prime Ministers have been replaced in internal coups in the last 10 years and we don't actually choose our candidates in the first place and nobody really gives a shit. Yep, some Bernie Bros will be pissed - there will be some backlash - but don't overestimate how much people will care if it's not a blatant screwjob. They just need to make it close enough and that's what they are achieving.

Texas getting tight. Bernie and Biden difference is about 5,000 votes now. On CNN they're saying Bernie was leading due to early voting insinuating Biden might pull this out since he has the momentum. This is really bad for Sanders if he ends up losing Texas...
