for the sake of the debate, ill give you that one (although it has been overblown. most of the superficial damage aldo had was from mendes headbutts and eye pokes).. list more "wars". because wars is a plural noun.

If those aren't wars then I don't know what is . what wars has conor been in? All of his fights have been one sided the only fight you could kinda consider a war for McG is the mendes fight and it didn't even make it past the 3rd round so not really a "war"
with all due respect, you are reaching my friend. there is no way in hell the edgar and hominick fights were wars... edgar vs aldo was more technical scrap than anything. hominick got his ass kicked by aldo for four rounds before aldo gassed and lost the fifth. even then, hominick was landing grazing punches, few landed flush...

Did you not see that uppercut mendes landed on Aldo? Aldo mendes 2 was definitely a war both guys were landig big shots all night. The Edgar fight was definitely a war as well they both we landed shot all fight

Maybe I miscontrue what a war is , I'm not talking about a Lawler vs MacDonald slugfest type if war , but when both fighters are trading shots in my book its a war. But I can respect you opinion I am kinda reaching cause Aldo really hasn't been in that many wars when you compare him to a guy like Diego Sanchez but that's because of how dominant Aldo has been nobody has really been able to make him engage in a slobberknocker

Dana White and Co. have made it no secret who they would like to win in this fight, and I wouldn't put anything past them.
I do believe Joe Say realizes this and I sincerely hope he is surrounded by people he absolutely trusts.
I would not put outright sabotage past The UFC to make sure Conor becomes their Cham-Peen.
The only bug in the ointment could be Connor asking for lots and lots of money. That could dampen his star real quick.

aldo is the more complete fighter than conor. he has more fights against tougher comp in the ufc compared to conor. even then, aldos stats are overall better than conors. aldo lands 43% of his punches. conor lands 44%.. aldo has a 73% successrate in defending punches in the stand up. conor has a 64%. aldo has mounted kz, florian, mendes, lamas, and even had faber in a mounted crucifix. mendes took conor down and had him in a mounted crucifix in less than 8 seconds. aldo has the best tdd at light weight. aldo has a higher td success rate than mendes.. aldo has beaten world class bjj practitioners in pure bjj competition. aldo has proven he can go five rounds with people like edgar. conor hasn't proven he could go five rounds. considering his ultra aggressive style, I doubt he can sustain it for 25 full minutes. aldo could very well take conor down and work him on the ground. that would be his best bet. aldo could even keep it standing and find success there. ill admit that its more dangerous, but conor isn't miles ahead in the standup the way you guys imply. look at the stats and see whose are better.
conor can win sure. his best bet is a straight left or maybe a body kick. aldo just has more avenues for victory seeing that he is a more complete fighter. and aldo has shown a solid chin himself.
considering aldo v mendes 2 was 95% stand up. what difference does it make whether I list boxing or mma wars... everything you've just stated is beside the point. it truly is.

you would have more of a point if mendes would have brutalized aldos legs; that clearly wasn't the case. look, I don't want to bicker back and forth about this nonsense.. I just simply pointed out that there is a huge difference in damage taken in the two fights that were described to be "wars" and actual wars where both guys left wreaked.
The biggest mistake Zuffa's UFC has made in their business model is cutting people that lose, no matter how hard they go after the win.
If you are willing to put it all on the line to get the win in a fight, it's probably going to be an awesome fight.
