I truly hate stories about anything sex related with politicians or powerful people because lately it just seems to be a soapbox for people to stand on and say either "see!" Or "but what about" and the experience of the survivors just gets weaponized for whomever's point scoring game. Friendly reminder that trafficking, sexual assault and sexual exploitation are class agnostic and even though the wealthy and powerful have more tools at their disposal to keep it quiet, people of no relative standing can and do also keep it quiet through much more basic and brutal tactics of intimidation and manipulation.

I don't have a solution either, if it's not age then it comes down to opinions on the victims maturity which of course is about as subjective as you can get.I don’t advocate an alternative... the age is set and that’s the law. I do not think you should be able to fuck a minor because they are almost age of consent.
