Even if it's demonstrably true or false.
The division and distrust he sowed is now reaping its rewards. The BBC says that the forest is on fire. The mainstream right says its Jewish space lasers. CNN report the election results. The right say its a global conspiracy against Donald Trump. No proof but people believe it. Because their hatred of CNN outweighs their belief in facts.
This only ends in more confrontation and violence. You could argue it was heading this way anyway but when I look at the UK I see the very deliberate steps being taken here to make politics toxic and create team A v Team B at any price. And it wasn't like that here 4 years ago. Not to this extant at leadership level.
It's not good or healthy for the populace.
