My life is in no danger.

My point about driving is that if it takes 8 hours just to get to Orlando, how long would it take to get somewhere safe? Because Orlando isn't safe. I'm not even sure the gulf coast is going to be safe. I'd have to go inland, to somewhere like Tennessee, and I don't know if I'll have enough time to get there. I also don't know that I'll be able to get gas along the way.

It's about practicality, not inconvenience.
after this is over move to a safer state
Hope it is as mild as possible

when 3 storms in a row are aimed at you it seems like a bad place to reside

I don't get coastal folk...I am river/stream folk myself

Do you guys think that cold front will be enough to turn this monster? CAT

Yes and there is a low pressure system up towards the Northeast sucking the storm that way.

That low pressure system? The leftovers from Harvey.

The more I think about it, the more I hope it stays on a western course runs over Florida and lands in Houston. Houstonians already have millions of dollars for relief efforts, they already have rescue workers there, and shits already trashed, so damage will be minimal.

Got gas at 430am. Took me 30 minutes. My parents were there 10 minutes beforehand (it is 2 minutes away), and they waited 10 minutes. Guess word got out. Wasn't too bad, but my mom woke me out of a sound sleep to tell me.

Wish this was the weekend of my vacation to North Carolina and not two weeks from now. :worried:

IF Irma goes up the east coast, that might not be a great vacation. Good luck and best wishes.

IschKabibble @IschKabibble ang chaos ensuing up there?
Got gas on Tuesday night and people were already lined up. Wasn't able to check, but heard from a friend that all the hardware stores were sold out of plywood as of yesterday.

417 is a mess. Not sure about I-4, but I'd have to assume the same. Most of us will hunker down. Shouldn't be too bad in Orlando. I've got 15 gallons of water and a gas stove so I can go into Survivorman mode if electricity goes out.

I got gas Monday, but I drive so much around here. I saw people leaving with plywood yesterday when I went towards Home Depot.
I'll be hunkered down here. Interested to see how the house fares, since it's brand new and supposed to withstand a cat 5.
Stay dry, I remember last year with the water rising in your back yard. Keep your pets safe!

I should be okay since I'm not in a flood zone. @Readily Formed Voltron might be screwed though.
