Again, I get why there is anger towards his actions, but lets not bury the lead here..... He told inappropriate jokes 10 years ago, and hung out with the wrong type of people...... Who HASN'T done that? (I don't know what all my friends/associates/colleagues do in their private time) He's never been accused of ACTUALLY being a pedophile, nor has he been arrested/convicted of this action. By all accounts, he was/is a socially weird and thrives in telling crude jokes.... This is a day and age where we televise comedy roasts with more often than not MORE inappropriate jokes, and where we make documentaries like "The Aristocrats" about one of comedy's most famous inappropriate joke, or pretty much have anything on comedy central after 10 PM... Is it possible that in the #MeToo era here, people have become HYPER sensitive towards jokes like these due to the sociopolitical climate we now live in?
Disney fired Gunn, yet say that they are in development of Pirates 6 with Johnny Depp (after numerous reports of physical abuse towards Amber Heard), people praise and beg for Bryan Singer to continue the X-Men franchise even though he has NUMEROUS accusations of hooking up with teenage boys in sex parties..... No one raises hell....... The Gunn situation came about because he went at it with a few dumbass Alt-Right Nazi supporters who went after him and found those 10 year old tweets, and people got offended.... Then those same alt-right loving douches said "Well if they fired Roseanne, than Gunn should be fired", ignoring the fact that she said racist shit NOW, and stood by it.
I think that this whole situation is overblown and ridiculous..... People need to get off social media and knock off the offended routine on ALL accounts.
