Here's an interesting fact nugget:

The last Cowboys superbowl win was closer to the Vietnam War than it was to today.
Here's my personal interesting fact nugget for you:

American football wasn't really known about in the UK until the 80s.

In the early 80s there were only 3 TV channels in the UK. Then a new channel started, unsurprisingly called Channel 4. It had a budget of roughly £5.27 for all programming, so obviously it couldn't compete with the BBC or ITV for any of the established sports. The only way it could have any sports content at all was to try to promote something that was new to UK audiences.

The most successful of these "unknown" sports was the NFL. There was an explosion of interest in this strange sport, especially amongst younger viewers.

I was in my teens at the time. The first season that they covered was the year that the Chicago Bears ran rampant, with the 46 defense and Jim McMahon at QB. Everyone latched onto the Bears as their favourite team because of the hype around them.

Of course I was different to all those sheeple who just tagged onto the winning team, I was better than that! So when an exciting young QB called Dan Marino led the Miami Dolphins to hand the Bears their only loss of that season, I had my team. I've stuck with them ever since.

The year that I chose the Dolphins as my team? 1985.

The last time the Dolphins made it to the Super Bowl? Yep you guessed it, 1984 lol.

That's unfortunate. Good for you sticking with them though. I recall only having 3 channels on television here in the States as well. One was the religion channel. My Mom watched it all the time. Another had soap operas and that was the other thing she watched. Eventually cable became a thing and I could pull the blocker out of the panel in back of the house and watch Skinemax(Cinemax)! Before I learned about the blocker it was blurry wiggly naked women for me. Sometimes you could make out the curves and bits well enough. ;)

Daniels looks like he may have a future. Doesn't look nearly as lost as Caleb Williams out there. Accurate. Patient.
