Welp, neighbor and I have hard wood now. Most of which was already dried and dead, only had to cut down one green tree.
Shes not wrong completely, our natural gas plants are the ones failing, along with wind.
Oh, and my chainsaw selection was pathetic due to lack of options. It did start right up though, picked up a craftsman 16 inch 2 stroke, I'm over here mixing gas and slapping ass.
It's the fact that they didn't winterize the generators.
The source of energy means fuck all in this situation, and people trying to make it political is laughable.

We got LUCKY!
We returned home and within 20-30 minutes of being home, I heard dripping in the attic. About ten seconds of dripping and then... swoosh! Water was pouring in the attic. I ran straight to the water shutoff at the street and turned it off.
Had we not come home when we did, it would have flooded big time. I’m sure the water heater would have come crashing through the ceiling and disconnected from the gas line.
I am so grateful that we were able to nip it in the bud. Would have been disastrous.

That has to be fake, Texans have always been full of wind.
You can get pex and the tools at Lowes or home depot. Pex can be spliced or you can get spools and replace the whole line.
What I heard is that two of the big natural gas plants were offline for service (great timing guys), and two nuclear plants weren’t able to kick in because their thermostats were frozen. Operational, but can’t turn on because frozen lol
Well, I just got the fireplace cleaned out and ready to go again for tonight. Chopped up some wood yesterday that was wet or covered in snow, but I dried it by the fireplace last night.
3 days no power so far, but we’re ready to go for another night of this ?. It’s not quite as cold today. And so far we’ve been eating well. My son thinks this has been the coolest thing ever hah, just a big adventure for him.
