When's the last time one state had 4 teams in the preseason top 25?

Florida St vs Alabama in week 1. Can't wait for that one. Going to tell me a lot as to whether we have a prayer of going into Tallahassee and winning. We beat their ass 68-20 last year at home, so they're going to want payback.
Getting Bobby Bowden out of there and Jimbo Fisher in was a really smart decision on FSU's part.

Since Fisher took over, they've won one CFP championship, competed in another, have been competitive every year, and have returned to prominence as the best team in the state (though it's only really been a two-way race for the past 15 years).

Bowden's a legend, but his old redneck ass was leading that team nowhere.

You never know how the transition will go when a legend retires from coaching and the new guys comes in. A lot of times it doesn't go well, but Jimbo has done a hell of a job down there. I'm interested to see just how good they will be this year. Their defense should be lights out. They lost Cook but got a stud in Cam Akers.

I used to live in Tallahassee. I live in the Fort Lauderdale area now.
Oh, thanks.

That explains a lot....Not in a bad way.

I grew up playing football when Florida St and Miami were just beasting the College Football scene....was pretty amazing and those teams were must watch TV...simply amazing assembly of talent and speed

The 2001 Hurricanes team is, to this day, the best college football team I've ever seen. And yeah I agree back in the day Miami and FSU had some epic games.

But the Hurricanes haven't been good since 2002-2003. A combination of NCAA violations, bad coaching, and losing top recruits to not only FSU and UF but reams around the country has caused this downturn.

I don't know if they can ever turn it back around. At least for the foreseeable future, I doubt it.

Here's Louisville's schedule. I'll predict the wins & losses.

Sat, Sep 2 vs Purdue - WIN
Sat, Sep 9 @ UNC - WIN
Sat, Sep 16 vs Clemson - WIN (played them close the last 3 years...this is the year we break thru)
Sat, Sep 23 vs Kent State - WIN
Sat, Sep 30 vs Murray State - WIN
Thu, Oct 5 vs NC State - LOSS (Petrino has a knack for losing a head scratcher & he doesn't do well in 5 day turn around games)
Sat, Oct 14 vs Boston College - WIN
Sat, Oct 21 vs Florida State - LOSS (beat them 68-20 last year...they'll be out for blood at home this year)
Sat, Oct 28 vs Wake Forest - WIN
Sat, Nov 11 vs Virginia - WIN
Sat, Nov 18 vs Syracuse - WIN
Sat, Nov 25 vs Kentucky - WIN (no way Petrino loses to these clowns two years in a row)

Final Record: 10-2 Orange Bowl

They're pretenders....and they have been huge failures since I was a baby boy back in the 1800s......they were gifted a few championships but have nothing really.....not impressed with their performance

Is anyone predicting FSU to beat Alabama on Saturday?

Also, my auto-correct tried to change FSU to GAY.

More appropriate for UM, but still pretty fitting.

Should be an easy cover for Ohio State tonight. 20 points.

Unveiling a new offensive strategy, and the new offensive coordinator for Ohio State is Indiana's former head coach who left under bad terms with the program. The D-Line for Ohio State is straight up NASTY.

Bucks 42
Hoosiers 10

FYI - The Ohio State @ Indiana game is being played at Ohio Stadium West.

Buckeye fans will outnumber Hoosier fans 5 :1

I always think it's hilarious how Buckeye fans literally take over that stadium.

It's Ohio and it's in the middle of the country. There are people in the state who have never seen the beach.

No offense to your home state or anything, but it's not like you've got a whole lot happening on weekends, or ever.
