The SEC should have to play at least 9 SEC games a year and their non-conference games should be with top teams from top conferences, no Division II/III/FCS bullshit.
Except A&M can play the Appalachian State Mountaineers again. That is a fun, competitive rivalry.

I want Texas to have a tougher schedule. I want more good games to watch. It annoys me when the sportscasters and stadium announcers try to analyze and hype up the Longhorns' warm-up games. The results shouldn't be pre-ordained. Texas should at least play Texas Tech or Baylor or OK State rather than Sam Houston.
On the other hand, I did like that they played UTSA, it was nice to give their program some publicity. So maybe allow one warm-up game a season.

It's a slap at their collective attitudes. It fits many Universities tbh
Pretty wild. This new era we're in is going to be rough on a lot of programs.
But it should feel good to start the season at 3-1 after y'all beat San Jose, UTEP and Sam Houston.

Hell nah! We love it. We fit in with the southern schools. A certain team doesn't fit AT ALL and the rest of the conference is now seeing that for themselves.
I get they weren't going to take another Texas teams word for it but it's playing out in typical sip fashion. Literally no need for "we told you so". They're showing you exactly who they are. Believe them..

How does Texas not fit in with the SEC? I would prefer more local conferences so students in the smaller sports wouldn't have to travel so far. Also Texas is more competitive academically than the most of the SEC outside of Florida, Vanderbilt, and maybe Georgia. But these are not the kinds of problems other fans care about.

The A&M/Texass rivalry is weird. Oklahoma and Texass hate each other with a burning passion and annually play the arguably the best rivalry game in college football. Both fan bases foam at the mouth for a chance at beating the other. I can't imagine hating each other in a way that you don't ever want to play each other again.
You guys love it at the end of the day bc it's been financially beneficial for you. It's why you didn't leave with A&M (which I'll add would have been more financially stable at the time) and why you followed them this time. It's way more about them though. Just ask them. Any of them.

If it was about the finances, it would be a home and home. Every once in a while some bean counter brings that up and the fans revolt on both sides.
That game is about tradition and the fans love for the game and hate for each other. Had a texass fan throw a dig at us at the tsa line in Portland just the other day because my wife was wearing an OU sweatshirt. It was good natured ribbing. Just part of the fun.
