I've never heard anyone say that about Apocalypse Now.
Are you referring to the theatrical release, or the redux?
That makes a HUGE difference.
I think I've seen both.
Maybe I will watch the redux version again if it's on just to make sure. But I'm pretty sure I have seen it.
It's the only one shown now. I remember the hullabaloo when it came out.
I also remember being profoundly disappointed in it.
Oh yeah, I remember that. Had to look it up to jog my memory. Big Casey Affleck fan.
He was amazing in that film. Truly amazing.
I'm not gonna spoiler but the bit when he returns from the store late night.
I remembered it just as it happened. And I was oh. Yeah that's why I didn't want to watch this agin.
But it's so well done. So well paced.
It's quite beautiful in its poignancy.
It got to me as well. Did you see him in Gone Baby Gone? There's a TV show coming out based around it.
Same writer as Mystic River. Bloody brilliant, both of them. I'm a bit of a Ben Affleck nut so Casey doesn't get a massive look in with me but he was great in Gone Baby Gone and Manchester.

Anna and the Apocalypse - 7/10
I saw it described as Shaun of the Dead meets La La Land. I haven't seen La La Land and I wouldn't say this is as funny or rewatchable as Shaun of the Dead but it was surprisingly entertaining.
It's a pretty typical comedy/zombie movie, nothing new plot wise but where this one stands out is that it's a musical.

Nobody rates Ryan Reynolds in Buried, which does me in. He was awesome.

It's a mess.
Same with anyone that likes John wick. Once you say you like this film. And are being serious you exempt yourself from being taken seriously as a critic ever again.
