A Man Called Otto

Tom Hanks as a grumpy old man.

Solid 7/10

Pretty sad movie really. I think Hanks' character was autistic. Recently lost his wife and was looking to off himself but kept failing at it.

Pretty funny at times with Hanks ripping on the idiots around him, and the woman who plays his Mexican neighbor steals some of the scenes she's in with Hanks. Great actress.

Heads up on some woke-bombs in this one, including a transgender paperboy who got kicked out of his house for being queer.

A little predictable, but worth a watch if you are a fan of Hanks.

Finally got around to watching John Wick last night. The first one.

7/10

Not bad. For a turn-off-the-brain action flick it was fairly entertaining. Keanu has a tendency to be a terrible actor, but he's decent in this one.

I'll watch the sequels.

Russell Crowe in The Pope's Exorcist

Crow plays Father Gabriele Amorth, tries to save a boy from a demon's grasp.

Russell Crowe is hammier than an Easter dinner, with more regurgitated special effects, wall and ceiling climbing, floating bla bla bla
At best a B rated flick

Nothing will ever compare to the 1973 Exorcist

nothin
that would have made it at least a 5/10

I miss the 80s, man. I picture 80's directors like metal hair bands, but instead of figuring out where to put the guitar solo they were trying to figure out the gratuitous nude scene. "It's gotta go somewhere, man"

A PRAYER BEFORE DAWN (2018)

8/10

True story
Billy Moore British kid does time in a Thailand prison at age 17 hoping to give up drugs, alcohol and burglary, and start fresh as a boxer and stunt man. He arrived in Thailand in 2005 and taught English there.

crazy flick - lots of violence, ladyboys, at one point he bites the throat of a guard

movie opens with Moore already in Thailand, fighting in one of Bangkok's backstreet gyms. "It's not supposed to be a biopic," says actor Joe Cole, who portrays Moore in the film. "It's just this one portion of a guy's life."

I didn't know @Galt signed off on the movie rights to his biopic.
