They do have this British dude doing it, don't they? Things are happening, but yeah its not going at a high pace.
Not sure but I think they should hire us to be perfectly honest.
I've got the inside scoop on the new powerhouse of European talent and can add a bit of panache to things, while you my friend are German and who doesn't love the German's almost perverse obsession with order, quality and regularity? Hmm?

Well I'll tell ya... the Jews, that's who. Who the fuck thinks it's a good idea to give some Germans the power to lock people in a cage? Remember how people got shitty about that some 70-80 years ago? You think your clinical sterilized accent is fooling anyone? Yeah, yeah go back to your wurst und orangensafft zum Frühstück there Klause. The deal's off! Back to der Ostfront with you!!!!

Okay, okay, I could stand to tone down THAT^ aspect of my delivery but other than that, I think we'd be able to make with the smooth, get the cash flowin and get the fighters down with things.

You're more likely to go down on the fighters.

I'd prefer not knowing why you chose to associate things in that direction...I mean, some fighters are women but it's best not to mix business with pleasure but if you didn't mean women then....yeah let's keep that your little secret please.

That's not quite factual, but whatever.
As I said, we are a hard market for MMA. But it could be very different with some good work put in, after all, Boxing is doing pretty well here, on of the major markets definitely. Kickboxing can do as well in certain cases, meaning, certain fighters, there just isn't a big promotion keeping it up.
For MMA, it takes time and patience. The UFC had both of those and still came back after stupid politicians trying to fuck with it, I respect that, for a while they went 'fuck you' to the politicians and we had fightpass for free!
And I just don't think new owners would go the same hard route. Needs love for the sport.

I don't really get that point, they would advertise with the same shit?! Reebok is here, we have beer, we have Harleys over here, we have Monster, we have supplements and whatever else.
For the UFC, all their sponsors could get something out of it, and for everything else, they don't really care anyway, right? Then its up to the TV station to get the right advertisers.
And there is no reason MMA couldn't do very well other than inexperience and bad education. Like it was in the US too in the beginnings.
Other American sports, yeah, their market is slim, but fighting has a huge potential here too, not just boxing.

Look, Kickboxing is rather small here, was rarely seen on any big TV station, but you can still produce stars if you do it right.
This girl became a big star and made shitloads of money with kickboxing, out of nowhere basically, had all her fights on a big station from some point on. And her advertisement-partners come from every fucking where. She is retired now but still around on TV and stuff.

Big deodorant.

Voltaren (pain-ointment, biggest out here)

Even for fucking Goodyear-tires! Why? No clue! :D

And much more I ain't even gonna post. That's some next level mainstream shit totally out of the niche.

Advertisement can't be the problem. I don't see it.

PS: She is a doctor, so watch out @Splinty

What you don't have is any ufc fighters other than midcard journeyman Dennis Siver

Which is exactly why you need a big org to push it.

Plus, Siver can't even speak proper German, and his charisma probably is as big as you assume, so there is that.

Wonder who bought them...?
My head says the Dalian Wanda Group who have been investing shitloads of money into their sports section's portfolio over the last few years and would make the UFC brand far bigger in the east, but my heart would love it to be Fox. Another could be Sky Sports who would be keen to utilise the UFC brand and make inroads into the American sports market, I would say this would be only about a 10-15% probability though.

to be fair to our German freund, he was talking about the market and how it could be developed in Europe. Now aside from the absurd schtick I had going with him, I find that he makes some fair points.
In other words, the market is there, it just hasn't been tapped properly.

Any potential MMA fighters out of germany?
Well, Siver of course, he holds himself in the UFC and only loses to really tough guys. But he is close to 40 and should retire soon. Not a bad career.

There is Peter Sobotta, but he is more Polish I think? If you wanna know about fighters with potential:

Nick Hein, UFC Lightweight and 3-1 in the UFC. But he won't be championship material.
Nick

Daniel Weichel, Bellator featherweight, 5-1 in Bellator only lost to Patricio Freire there.
Daniel

Rany Saadeh, flyweight, current BAMMA-champ. He might go far, still only 23.

Jessin Ayari, will fight at UFC Hamburg against the dude that knocked out Palhares last month, good test. A lot of fights already but still only 24.
Jessin

Stephan Pütz, big lhw, fighting for M1 mostly with a fine record, not sure if any big org is gonna scoop him up though.
Stephan

Jarjis Danho, hw, 6-1 with his weird loss coming in his UFC debut in his last fight, already 32 though. But hw 32 seems young.
Jarjis

Martin Merkt, hw, 25, had a good ama career and is now 6-0 but hasn't fought a big name yet. Sherdog doesn't even know a lot about him yet.

Timo Feucht, lhw, I include him since he is only 19 and already making a name for himself with all finishes

And these two bantamweights I'd like to see make the next step to see if there is anything there:

You're saying @Splinty has a Low T influence? Why not just beat his pudgy ass into submission? You're Rambo, you could make Splinty your Brian Dennehy.

nerds can b intimidating to the alpha
True, Dennehy sent Rambo to jail in tears like a little bitch. But it happened after Rambo had his soft-ass sprawled on the floor of his own police station at gunpoint at the end of Rambo's M-60.

Am told the highest bidding group for 100% of UFC “exceeded the asking price.” It’s near $4.19 billion. Bid expected to be accepted.

Jeremy Botter ‏@jeremybotter 2m2 minutes ago
I’m led to believe the highest bid came from WME-IMG/Dalian Wanda Group/The Kraft Group/Tencent Holdings plus other minor partners.

All current partners would cash out. But White would be given 6-7% of new company in exchange for continuing his role.

There is also talk that Garry Cook would take over CEO role to handle strategic business dealings.
