Well, if you'd paid any attention to it at all, you would hold him responsible. Because that absolutely IS what he wanted to happen, and the evidence presented shows it very clearly.

??
It's what really interests me, to what degree is the president responsible for what he says?
For the outcomes?

Can he shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it?

It's more that he spent the entire riot watching it on TV while expressing happiness at what was going on, and that he couldn't understand why others in the White House were distressed about what was going on, instead of happy and excited.

Do you guys honestly think Orange will face any charges? Or is it enough to just have a smear campaign to potentially keep him from running in 2024?

You want to hold him responsible because you hate him with every fiber of your being.

I think he's a ? but I don't know exactly what was in his brain anymore than you do.

What evidence proved that he wanted that crowd to storm The Capitol? And you can't say because he said "Unless you fight like hell, you won't have a country anymore."

Because...
"Objection! Conjecture!"

Objection. Conjecture.

Sustained! Be careful, counselor.

No, because at this point the GOP essentially functions as a cult. Pretty much just as simple as that.

Or is it enough to just have a smear campaign to potentially keep him from running in 2024?
Smear campaign?

This isn't politics as usual, man. This is the worst crisis that American democracy has faced since the Civil War, and that is absolutely not hyperbole in any way whatsoever. It's WAY beyond standard political gamesmanship. It's a crisis scenario, for real, and the anti-democracy faction is on the rise.

This is all to keep him out of the 2024 race, which I think is a bad play.

I don't think Trump can win. But I think just about any GOP candidate will wipe the floor with Biden or Harris. So, ironically, they'd be better off if Trump ran. They'd be way better off if they didn't run Biden and/or Harris but who knows what happens there.

It's literally the definition of hyperbole.

Why are you now telling me what happened, when you've spent the last year deliberately turning your head away from it and minimising it at every step of the way?

I'm still minimizing compared to you making Mt Everest out of a molehill.

It's not conjecture though. It's reality.

Prove it.
Prove what was in his brain.

His actions before the riot were in bad form.
His actions during the riot were in bad form.
His actions immediately after the riot were in bad form.

Presidential? No.
Criminal? Nah.

Well, that's a narrative.
I would love to see it laid out, if it's so. Will be hard to prove.

Don't have to prove "what was in his brain", his actions and vocalised statements to others as according to the sworn testimony of multiple people interacting with him that day is enough.

1. He will face no charges. He's successfully avoided responsibility or rebranded blame all his life. He never has and never will see consequences.

2. What happened is his own doing, and if it's a "smear campaign", he's done the most to pile shit on himself.

The man shouldn't ever have been in office to begin with, and if he hadn't been born wealthy we'd all be better off.

Decent assessment

I don't think any of our last 6 presidents should have been in office...but here we are.

That has nothing to do with what happened Jan 6.

Our democracy is a mess because DC is a cesspool of corruption.
So you can't answer a pretty simple and reasonable question.

DC has been a cesspool of corruption since the start.

And a President spouting lies - not spin, nor half truths, flat out proven lies - nonstop for the rest of his life, how you you pretend like that isn't a new and extremely worrisome development? Haven't you seen that your political stability and discourse has fallen off a cliff since Trump rode down the elevator?

Every time a politician moves his mouth he's lying through his teeth.

I honestly believe Trump thinks the election was rigged. And according to Seinfeld, it's not a lie if you believe it.

Well no, video footage of him fucking a child wouldn't be enough to hang a conviction on him with today's GOP. We know that. That doesn't tell us anything about the seriousness of his actions.
