Nothing my friend did violated department regulations. When Sheriff Tony was appointed (he was never elected) by the governor after the governor fired our last sheriff, Tony came in and talked about the need to get tough on crime. Then he bitched out once he saw that firing my friend might help him gain political points.
An Internal Affairs investigation was conducted and recommended no disciplinary action. Tony fired him anyway. My friend was charged by the state attorney's office so of course he has to be suspended until that plays out, but he's going to be found not guilty and cleared.
