Rough green snake. I think the blue spot behind his head is a scar. For whatever reason, they turn that color when damaged somehow and those spots never go back to bright green.

Pretty sure this is Morning Glory.

I'm also pretty sure this flower's seeds cause hallucinations similar to LSD.

No wonder my hippy neighbor lady has that plant growing... lol

I don't think that's native down here, but you can buy it as a decorative plant. She has hers in a hanging basket on the back porch.

Spotted some Black Eyed Susans growing wild in my woods:

I might dig them up and put them in a pot.

Just saw this fucker above the garage. Gross. He/she just got one of those June bug things that come out about 9:30. Fucker wrapped it up and is probably hoggin’ on it’s guts about now.

We’re working in Golden at The School of Mines, right by their boring facility and I nicked these of a pile of stuff they swept in our spoils.

Ah yes those are excellent examples of Pink Crystalium. Not very rare. Some say they hold mystic powers to heal.
Others say they can only be found by someone that is destined for greatness...

I know all this because I made it up.

That’s outside of my region of expertise, so I’m not super familiar with the bedrock lithologies there. But, it looks like some type of quartz or quartzite…but that’s a guess. Is it hard, or can you scratch it easily? That reddish iron staining is common it
quartz minerals and also calcite minerals. Out there I’d lean towards the quartz side, but again just guessing from the pics.

if you can share a generic location, I have some online GIS resources I can look and and make a more educated guess.

mail me a sample and I’ll lick it and see what it tastes like. And also to see if it gets me high.

(jokes aside, old school geologists do actually lick rocks to see what they are lol)

It’s pretty hard and it goes from clear to pink to dark red. It looks like crystal to me. It was in Golden but I suspect the school brings shit in from everywhere. If I see someone around I’m gonna ask them and try to get more free rocks off them ?.

Only if you take them rectally.

Let us know how the ride is!
First thing I did. It was rough but I’m energized.
