Hauler, what's your skill set? I moved to Ak. in June of 98. It's doable. It's mobetta. Lived in Barrow(now called Utquiagvik), Fairbanks, North Pole, Delta Junction and now Petersburg. It ain't perfect, but it's better here. Freedom bro.

I'd love to live in Alaska. I have a cousin out there. He lives in a remote area. Log cabin. Like an hour or so from Fairbanks.

FYI - If you put an @ in front of usernames it will alert them of your message.

Still trying to figure out this internet stuff. Pretty familiar w/ Fbks and surrounding areas. My suggestion, Hauler, make the move in w/your cousin. My inclination is you will say f**k the lower 48 and figure it out.

I have no doubt I'd figure it out. But I have family here. If not for that, I'd definitely fuck off to Alaska.

Last night this poor thing was meowing outside my North by northwest 4th window of section d of my house.
I put out some food just in case.
He found it apparently, & found a home under my panther inside the sunroom.

I spotter 2 bucks in the side yard this morning. I figured it was only a matter of time before they tested each other.

So this past weekend was my annual winter camping trip. Perfect weather. 50 degree during the day and it only dropped to mid 20s at night.

This Weekend's Story:

So this spot we are at is VERY remote. Appalachian mountains. During the day we kept hearing construction equipment. Like a truck backing up. Chainsaws. We hiked out to investigate from the nearest hilltop, but it sounded like it was coming from another 2 hilltops over. That would require 2 major hill climbs as each was divided by a massive ravine (actually 4 climbs if you count the return trip) so we bailed. That 2nd hilltop wasn't our property anyway.

Fast forward to that night and we are all drunk around the campfire. It's about midnight and my buddy spots a worklight shining through the pitch-black night in the general direction of where the noises earlier in the day were coming from. The four of us are examining the light - which looks closer than where the noises were coming from. We're talking strategy, and it certainly sounds like we are heading towards a "lock and load" situation and heading out into the night on foot because, even though there's no noise this time, the light now looks like it IS on our property.

We are about to gear up and my buddy's like "Hang on. Hold up." He takes out his stargazer app and points it towards the light and says "That's the fucking moon you dipshits"

Took a walk at night and got a solid picture of the campfire. Even see some stars - although this pic does the stargazing we had that night zero justice. It was amazing.

Interesting. The population of the entire world could fit into Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana at a density of 55,673 people per square mile. If you used the density of London at 14,462 per square mile the world's population could fit into New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Might be a night boil. Sun is going down and I'm only about half done.

Ain't nothing like some REAL homemade maple syrup. Wish I had the hook up. Then again, nothing like some fresh-caught vacuum sealed red salmon from Alaska. Hmm. Just sitting here in Petersburg, Alaska pondering. Ya know, I heard some scoundrels even sneak killer Alaskan Matanuskan Thunderfuck weed in their frozen salmon packages to the lower-48. Frankly, it sickens me. But, maple syrup on smoked red salmon does do the trick. Uhhhh... yeah..
