no not really . this has been going around all day . we dont even officially have the new PM until tomorrow and omar algabrah isnt even a cabinet member right now. it is possible that it is coming but he isnt really that high profile and i would think anita armand or melonie joly would get the nod before he does. also the deputy PM isnt really much of a position. trudeau had one because he is lazy but harper never had one. there has only been 10 deputy PMs ever and almost all of them have been liberals
As of March 13, 2025, Canada does not have a Deputy Prime Minister. The position is currently vacant following the resignation of Chrystia Freeland on December 16, 2024. Freeland served as Deputy Prime Minister from November 20, 2019, until her resignation, during which she also held roles such as Minister of Finance and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. The office of Deputy Prime Minister is appointed at the discretion of the Prime Minister and does not carry a fixed portfolio or automatic succession rights. Since Freeland's departure, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not appointed a replacement, leaving the role unused as of now.

it could be possible for omar algebrah to be in carneys cabinet . he seems to be putting together a team of cast offs and people who either quit or forced to resign under trudeau . he is picking up all the rats that jumped off the sinking ship when it looked like reelection was impossible
