La Paix @Nuk Soo Kow this guy also LOVED season 8 of Game of Thrones and has lived most of his adult life in either New Jersey or NYC.

Just a couple things to consider when deciding whether or not you should take his opinion seriously.

The books are great. Robert Jordan is an amazing storyteller.

No TV/movie series will ever be as good as the book series from which it is adapted, for obvious reasons, but it's still possible to make a good book or TV series. See Game of Thrones seasons 1-6 and the LOTR trilogy for examples.

The Wheel of Time TV adaptation went beyond cutting corners bc of time/complexity. Eight/ten episodes and any show watcher would have no idea who the protagonist is. From the beginning of book 1 it's very clear.

I just threw that one out there. I read The Hobbit but left Fellowship of the Ring half finished because I got annoyed by all the stupid songs and Tom Bombadil.

In the book it's just more grotesque and crazy.

The Haunting of Hill House took a stand-alone book that was "okay" at best and adapted into something awesome

I'm about halfway through book 5, but yeah I'm sure that in book 7 or 8 Rand will suddenly cease to be the most important character in the series. Maybe everyone will realize that Eggy or Siuan Sanche or Liandrin is the dragon reborn and car'a'carn.
