My first question would be is it something you are actually going to use, and what kinda glass and how much ammo does it come with.Yeah that's what I was seeing, not sure where he is coming up with the price unless he has like several hundred rounds and the glass is several thousand.
Great post, I have no interest in it, I have enough toys in the safe, just curious what your guys thoughts were on the price. My first question would be is it something you are actually going to use, and what kinda glass and how much ammo does it come with.
The semi auto Barretts, while cool AF, with out hand loads and just using random .50BMG are 3-4ish MOA on a good day.
I mean even at only 1k yards, with out good ammo, that could easily mean you could be looking at two E type silhouettes width of "I hope it hits here", huh that felt like a great shot, fuck me kinda shooting.
With good ammo, you can certainly cut that down quite a bit. And there is something to be said for a "what cover bitch" rifle, that you can also reach out there with. And they are honestly just fun rifles, that basically IMO feel like shooting three inch magnum slugs out of a 12 gauge, with a big fuck off projo behind it.
Basically I would say that's a lot of coin to shell out on a meh accuracy with out rolling your own, that's expensive to feed either way, and is more of a novelty than anything.
If it's something you think is really cool, and don't mind dropping the coin? Send it. But man, you could get into a nice custom/semi custom bolt gun in a modern long range projo, and throw some decent glass on it for that price.
You could get into a high quality precision gas gun and good glass etc for that kinda coin too.
You could buy a shit load of 9mm and 5.56 and .308 etc etc.
I have a 5.5" ar9 that is a lot of fun to shoot.I sold some stuff and have some money burning a hole in my pocket. Leaning towards a new piece. Haven't narrowed it down at all. I don't need anything. I have an AR, .308, 12 gauge pump and semi auto, couple pistols. IF I get something, I am leaning towards a pistol caliber carbine for fun and cheap shooting, Henry lever action, another pistol, maybe 1911, or another 12 gauge.
We are on the same page. I went to Cabela's today to fondle some guns. Didn't care for the SIG p320 specter comp (actually I wouldn't say I didn't care for it, just underwhelmed) held a Kimber kds9c that I really liked and a Kimber rapide. If I go that route it will be with the idea of an heirloom and will not be carried. Occasionally taken to the range. I asked if they had any pccs and the guy handed me a Henry homesteader 9mm. I liked that a lot. It's in the running.I have a 5.5" ar9 that is a lot of fun to shoot.
If you're thinking of a pistol caliber Henry, be prepared to want to buy a single action revolver to match it. I have 2 Ruger .44 Specials and 2 Ruger .32's and still feel like I have to buy a Ruger .45LC to go with my Uberti .45 lever. Lol
1911's are my favorite firearm of all time so I would go with that. Lol. I have 1 that I inherited from my grandpa, 1 that I inherited from my dad, and 1 of my own and I still want more.
I think I'm up to 6 12 ga's now. A single shot, a lever action, a couple pumps and a couple semi's. I'm getting the itch for a 1301, but it will probably be behind a lot of other shit honestly.
If you aren't in the need for anything, I would get something that you've always wanted and don't have or something that you think will be the most fun.
