Who are you guys picking in the main and co main?

I love and hate Mousasi vs Hendo at the same time. I am a huge fan of both guys and hate seeing my favorites matched up against each other

It sucks because if Hendo loses, he will have lost 5 of his last 6 fights, and I hate seeing guys like him go out on these long losing streaks.

But if Mousasi loses, he may very well never make it back to elite status again. Which is crazy to me.. Because IMO, Gegard is by far one of the most talented guys in the entire UFC. I thought his fight with Machida was great and was bummed when he got tapped against Jacare. He hasn't really looked like himself in the UFC save for a few fights. Just too hesitant and lackadaisical. I always felt like he has so much talent in both grappling and striking that he'd tear guys up. I'm not exactly sure why he has looked so off in the last year or two.

But yeah.. your picks?

I'm taking Johnson and Mousasi...although I am REALLY pulling for Hendo

Moose and Gus. I won't be surprise if I am 0/2 though. I think Rumble gets frustrated being technically taken to school. Hendo... I'm just not sure what he has left really and Moose is not a glass chin.

Not watching yet, is it that bad with rogan?

It's just like the script for every single event interview he does. Redundant questions and making it about his problems with a stoppage. I think it's not in terms of worse, it;s just just no one has told him it's not the Joe Rogan show and when FIghters are saying he's dead wrong, he needs to fuck off.

What'd they say? I missed it

Cormier was just clearly annoyed with the notion of it being some robbery of Ogle's chances to comeback and so was Stann, since Joe was the guy barking about it, I can only assume it was sent at him.

They are fighters Joe is not and ironically Joe pretends he's all about neuro safety too.

I'm a huge Rogan fan, and tonight is honestly one of the strangest nights ever as far as his interviews go. I just don't know why he's approaching guys like that. A fighter just won by KO in like 7 seconds, and he hurt the guy so bad that the guy was trying to grapple the ref and the ref even had to tap.

Clearly had no idea where he was. Lately Rogan has been talking about wanting to quit his job because he can't stand seeing all the brain trauma guys go through.. Yet some guy gets separated from his senses to the point he is grappling the ref, trying for a takedown etc... Rogan goes in and immediately says to the fighter who won "it looked like a premature stoppage, blah blah, do you think it was the right call. it looked to me like it was early, etc etc"

The guy stood there like.. uhh.. well, it's not my job to stop the fight.

I mean WTF, this dude just got a 7-8 second KO in front of 30k people and within 1 minute of that Rogan is in there grilling him saying the fight was stopped too soon and saying it was wrong. How is the guy supposed to respond to that? Rogan is the one who keeps talking about brain trauma. The ONLY way Ogle could've been more "out" is if he was completely out cold, asleep. To me, that's not necessary when a guy has been hit so hard that he's trying to grapple the wrong person and doesn't know where he is.

I am a fan of definitive stoppages also... but I think that was one. That's why it's weirding me out how Rogan treated it. Why would he NEED to see Ogle go out totally cold? You can't get more out than that without sleeping.

Yeah I don't get it because just like I was saying too, Ogle was as out as possible without actually sleeping.. Rogan is always harping on the trauma endured by these guys' brains, why exactly did he need to see Ogle put away even more to be satisfied? And why would you bring that up immediately to a guy who is on complete overdrive with every emotion possible - just winning a fight by KO in mere seconds in front of 30k people?

Just a bad idea IMO. Absolutely pointless to ask that question to the fighter who won, as if he somehow has any say in when it was stopped. To me, the ONLY thing Joe's question could possible accomplish is to make the guy who just won feel bad and take away the joy from his victory a little by making it seem like it wasn't deserved. Why would you want to do that?

Rogan as always straddled this line of: Carnage thirsty Bro wingnut, and "Alternative thinking skeptic", and seems to play them on his different jobs/shows. I've had enough with the double standard he sets with it by being a UFC company man one day and then horrified anti-head injury spokesman the next

Ultimate contradictory image.

Gegard vs Hendo I'll guess will be a close UD with Moose getting the nod. Hendo is almost done unfortunately and I'd be pumped to see him leave on a win or two though. Out of the two of them Gegard can afford the a loss slightly better than Dan. I don't know what it is but Gegard seems to have so many tools but is so hesitant, it can be frustrating to watch knowing he's capable of so much more but hasn't gone for the kill lately. For the main event it see AJ just coming up short due to versatility. Im a big fan of both but I think Gus wins by staying active and making AJ over commit then punish him and get out. I'd say AJs best chance would be to go for broke and pressure the fuck out of Gus and get that one big shot he needs. If this gets to late in the third I can't see Gus losing. I also think right now that Gus has a better chance against Jones and I'd love to see the LHW division get mixed up a bit. If I'm wrong and AJ does win then I've underestimated how he'd do against Jones as well.

They are like caricatures of broadcasters people make parodies and satire of. It really hasn't evolved in over 5 years.
