Have you tried the daily fantasy for mma at all? I do an awful lot of NBA/MLB/NFL dfs, I've tried MMA a few times but I haven't had much luck with it

I've never been a fan of daily fantasy. I much prefer the seasonal version. Daily fantasy to me is a cross between traditional fantasy and straight up gambling. I prefer traditional fantasy for gamesmanship and comraderie with friends in my leagues and regular wagering on fights when I have a more instant gratification gambling itch. DFS does neither of those two things as well IMO.

Truth is, the younger demo have not embraced MMA like the 2004-2010 era did
That is why there is a drop across the board
They did not replace fans that moved on
20 somethings are not giving up weekends to watch MMA the past few years

Me thinks: America has a tendency to saturate a market with crapola ie UFC is everywhere at all times-- remember how America nearly OD'd on Rhonda? You couldn't get away from her even if you wanted. No disrespect to her or her accomplishments. Although I don't see the WWE as a template by any means, at least they have the good sense to groom their talent to get maximum bank on their PPVs. If they were to just throw together a bunch of rasslers together and shite out PPV after PPV they would alienate their fans. So, I think you really hit on something that everybody is feeling. Y'all(the Promoters) are taking us(the fans) as a bunch of suckers. Not to mention paying the fighters peanuts for putting their asses on the line. Really not a lot has changed since the gladitorial times unfortunately. Remember in the early UFC days they marketed it as NO RULES! and BLOOD, BLOOD and more BLOOD!?? Now they really try to push the spectacle/edgy hipster angle down our throats. I remember Tyson said: "As hard as I work in the gym, there are people working harder to take my money from me." Can't remember who said, "Wherever there is money you will find three things: talent, crooks and talented crooks."

Rory is from my town and I've trained at the same club years ago so I'm always watching him fight.

Gastelum being the constant underdog and now the smaller guy makes me wanna watch him fight.

Conor is fun to watch but I love all the unexpected ted shit that he brings too. More people watch him weigh-in than some guys can draw for a fight.

Derrick Lewis is always throwing BB's and had an aging IG account and port fight speech so again, I'll do my best to catch every fight.

I do daily fantasy MMA for every card, and it definitely helps keep the interest level in some of the random pre-lim fights. I also write a DFS article for each card over at Broest Bros. I just put my article up for 226 about an hour ago.

Taking Stipe in the main event, and I'm avoiding the Ngannou-Lewis fight as far as DFS is concerned. I think Francis probably takes it, but he's pretty expensive.

It's a definite possibility that Chiesa is able to push Pettis against the cage and hold him there for stretches (Lord knows Pettis has spent a lot of time in that position recently). However, I see Chiesa having a much more difficult time getting to that position than some of Pettis's recent opponents. He doesn't throw enough to keep Pettis backing up consistently and his frame puts his chin right in Pettis's wheelhouse as he attempts to close the distance.

Granted, it's hard to pick Pettis with any huge amount of confidence anymore, but these "value" picks are there as a cheap option to round out your lineup, allowing you to use more cap space elsewhere are more surefire picks.

I think you hit the nail on the head here.when ufc came out i was 20.it was easy to get people together to watch the fights.there was no real internet so someone had to buy or rent it and everyone gather around a 27 inch sony trinatron to watch.fast forward 25 years.everyone who used to hang out and watch the fights got married,got old,would rather go to bed bath and beyond with their wife in the morning instead of staying up to watch the fights.the world changed.you can watch the fights on your phone if you want.there is no need to have a party every time the ufc is on.a lot of us are aged out of the demographic.the younger guys only watch conor .the ufc changed from no rules no time limits and events every couple months to weekly events half full of no name ham and eggers.i still watch every time but unless it is a big event like last nights superfight i dont care as much as i used to.i get more enjoyment out of bellator and pfl than an average ufc card these days and way more enjoyment out of rizin

I still watch, but I dont care. I did my '$upport the sport' penance since UFC 1. I'll watch the free cards. I may use alternative methods for ppvs, but they are never getting another penny from me.

And I think Bellator has more entertaining cards now anyways.

I would think a more exciting presentation by UFC would help appeal to that demo
The UFC presentation has been the same for 15 years
Bellator does it much better & with less money.
I like when they throw back to a panel in-between fights.

Over the last year or so I’m finding that I really care less and less about the cards. I used to call, talk and text my friends and make plans for almost every card and now I’m not sure when the last one was that I watched with other people. Hell most of the time I just check updates on my phone and watch the fight I’m interesting after it’s done.

I don’t know if it’s the constant card changes due to injuries, the sheer abundance of cards diluting my attention or the way that MMA promotion has gone down this cringy soap opera like path.

Is anyone else feeling like this or is it just me?
