I could never watch that video. I’d have nightmares for weeks if not months, I’d imagine.

I have no interest in watching it. But it does strike me that we're the only species with an expectation of going through life without seeing dead bodies.

^^^ local Christchurch chapter of Black Power - a prominent NZ (mainly Maori) gang.

Shooter is already being targeted in lock up (allegedly).

Forgive me I haven't looked into this worth shit.

Can someone answer me 1 question?

I'm seeing 'White Supremacist/White Supremacy' being used all over in headlines. Was the supposed killer actually an outspoken white supremacist?

I just wanna know why this term is being used so obviously everywhere. Is it really what happened, or is MSM just slurring/inserting this into the narrative?

Thanks

It's a bit of both - not outspoken though, he was a bit of a loner (in real life) apparently.

Tendencies towards that line of thinking - yeah probably, given what was in the manifesto he wrote and sent around.

Throws the "White Power" hand sign (that 4chan created as a joke) when he was in the dock being charged with murder.
Or maybe he's just saying "I'm ok, they've treated me well, I like my new outfit and the food is superb".

lol about the food

thanks for the info

I was wondering if Islamophobia was now synonymous/interchangeable with White Supremacy

MSM sure seems to like to use that term nowadays, often as a distraction from other motivations or discussions. I think its a pretty vague label to be throwing around carelessly, to me you have to be pretty blunt about such beliefs to warrant using it. Like Antisemitism

But if this guy was really sayin those things (pic included) that's different.

Is anyone hacking up any theories of Manchurian Candidate? Its a prime story for the MSM to circle jerk over (not that I'm suggesting it).

media is running with whatever they want, as usual...picking and choosing what to put out and spinning it however they please

I don't actually believe the shooter believes all the crap he wrote in his "manifesto"...I think it was just a shit stir attempt by him or whoever he is with...a very successful shit stir it will/has become.

Sad shit for those who lost lives...sad shit for those who will lose rights...Fuck the shit stirrers IMO

I find it interesting that he's consistently being called a Trump supporter even though it says he doesn't like Trump's policies.

That's what I'm talking about

Everything is being dumped into the umbrella labels of Trump-supporter/white supremacist nazi. Its ridiculous, you can't step one inch from the MSM narrative or you get branded like this. Events like these unfortunately are perfect ammo to pump this shit up even further.

They're not saying we have to fight against Islamophobia, or even fight against nationalists/anti immigration, or mental health or whatever else may be at play with a guy like that. No they just jump straight to 'White Supremacy'. At least that's what I'm seeing in like 90% of the headlines.

I saw a bit of CBC today, the headline of some panel was 'How to talk about NZ shooting'. They were actually giving a public memo of what sort of language we're supposed to frame this in. Like I said I don't know jack about what happened or who the guy actually is but the MSM spin is hard not to see

Outside of the manifesto, I haven't seen anything on his social media that was overtly "White Supremacist" - is there a chance he's just "trolling" with his political views?

or did I miss all the racism on his FB?

Splinty @Splinty posted a chart of his political views on the second page. Other than being a nationalist (hilarious because he wasn't from NZ) he mostly holds socialist views.

I'm not happy about how funny that post is.
I just saw that Kellyanne Conway referred to the murderer as an 'eco-terrorist' a few days ago.

That's what I was getting at when I went too hard at you for your posts. There are some despicable people (she's paid to he despicable) in high places that were going to try and deliberately spin the manifesto and I knew it was coming.

Part of the problem is that it's hard to draw lines where ideology starts and mental illness begins. I remember in Australia, the Sydney siege guy was waving around an Isis flag and had previously presented himself as a devout muslim. But it turned out that was a pretty recent phenomenon - the guy was a diagnosed schizophrenic with a history of crazy, very non-muslim behavior. People still refused to accept that the guy's major malfunction wasn't religion. But it also goes the other way - people on the left always try to downplay legitimate, co-ordinated terrorism. It shows how political these things become.

There are a lot of people that very understandably recoil at the politicization of these events, but the fact is it's actually important to do it. Because sometimes a lone nut is just a lone nut, but sometimes they are a symptom of a larger problem and it may be politically convenient for people to try and keep it that way.

Apparently there was a recent nasty shooting in Nigeria where someone shot up a Christian church, killed 14 people + injured.

But the 'news' doesn't seem to be interested in that.

Chew on that - what's the difference(s)?
