The upshot is that lowering marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II would allow the government to research it, according to a senior Biden campaign official, who briefed reporters on his plan.
"He is here saying no one should be in jail because of cannabis use.”
“He very much believes that we need more research and study the positive and negative impact of cannabis use,” said the aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “There are a number of negative side effects of cannabis or side effects that we don't fully understand. But he is here saying no one should be in jail because of cannabis use.”
Biden would support federal legalization of medicinal marijuana, but he'd leave decisions about recreational use to the states while more research is conducted
To back the position, Biden’s campaign pointed to a 2017 study by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, which found conclusive evidence that marijuana can be used medicinally to reduce pain or chemotherapy-induced nausea, but there are risks too. The study found a correlation between cannabis use and an increased risk of developing psychoses, social anxiety disorders and chronic bronchitis.
The proposal also calls for ending prison sentences for drug use alone. He’d require federal courts to divert those defendants to drug courts so they could be referred for treatment, and would issue federal grants to states to do the same. To nudge states, he’d create a $20 billion grant program, and states would only be eligible if they take steps like eliminating state-level mandatory minimum sentences
You seem to have a lot of bluster since you finally have a good leader in office. I can’t blame you though. Hail Boris!take a bus and get off the road grampa
well i'm glad you never have to treat anyone for alcohol or sex addiction as those things are illegalBuses are for inexperienced millennials and communists railing against my car.
Biden's plan:
All medical use legal.
Allow government research.
Use the court system to move drug users into treatment.
Allow states to choose their recreational choices while the feds job is to determine the safety data.
Give states incentives to enhance treatment instead of jail.
I'd post more but have to go treat someone inpatient for cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome and counsel yet another teen that their regular smoking habit does in fact have negative components to it...despite what geniuses on facebook post.
I remember when you used to post something other than sarcasm. It made your points stronger and better communicated.well i'm glad you never have to treat anyone for alcohol or sex addiction as those things are illegal

I used to know the Canadian law a little better when it was first announced, but if I remember right my only real issue with it is that the age should be set to 21.
By what mechanism will you determine they are stoned?I don't give a fuck about weed bc it's a loser drug but let the retards smoke it legally.
If they drive stoned then their asses in jail just like the drunks.
Ask them their favorite music. If they answer anything that sounds like shit to a normal person, book them and maybe do an eye coordination/slurred speech test as a backup. Last part isn't necessary though.By what mechanism will you determine they are stoned?
In general no. Regulate it and allow it in certain areas as we do with alcohol.Should public intoxication be legal or not?
