They are going to trade Bauer next year for more prospects. I think thats their plan, same a Puig this year. Too bad Cincy will just keep on being Cincy and find some way to mess it up

Nah. That doesn't have much to do with anything. If they weren't a bunch of asses throwing at people's heads there wouldn't be a problem.

I don't like that we gave away one of our prospects (Trammell).
If they plan on signing Bauer long term this is a great move. If they intend to flip him in a year it just feels like we're treading water.
But if you break it down, the Reds gave up Homer Bailey and Trammell (prospect in double A) for Alex Wood and Trevor Bauer. That's a fucking steal.
It worked for the Royals a few years ago but it took them 30 years to get it right once
In theory the Reds could sign Puig after this season. He will be a free agent. Who knows what their plan is.
Looking at Puig's stats...
Other than his first 2 seasons when he hit .319 and .296 Puig has basically developed into a .260 hitter with some pop.
This year he has a slash of .252/.302/.475
22 dingers. 61 RBI.
He is an above average fielder with an outstanding arm.
His WAR is .8 so basically an "average" player.
But he's fun to watch play. I wish him well.

Damn, Nelson Cruz smashed 3 more homers tonight. That's 11 in his last 9 games. He's up to 30HR this year, tied with Max Kepler for the team lead. Cruz missed about a month on the IL or whatever it's called these days too. Boom Stick is playing in beast mode.

Aaron Hicks may be injured again and Encarnacion is on the DL after getting hit in the wrist by a pitch today.
I blame Jacoby Ellsbury for all of this. We never had injury problems like this before that fucker came over from the Red Sox. We should just cut him loose and pay him out because he's a damn curse.
