My company announced a month ago that we were winding down operations and would shut down by the end of the year. We were being given preferential hiring at other airlines, some with same hourly pay rates based on longevity with our current airline. There was almost a bidding war happening for our pilots, even offering signing bonuses. I think that’s done now. All the airlines are announcing drastic reductions and probably lay-offs. Not a good time to be an out of work pilot. Things were going so well and then, poof. Timing is everything.
