How bad of an idea would it be to hit the outside brick exterior of my house with a propane flame thrower? Probably a pretty bad idea right?

Seriously though masons use them in the winter to speed up the drying/cure time for the grout. Quick passes will work, don’t overheat it or you’ll crack the bricks. Stay away from anything combustible like vinyl siding, window frames etc.

why do you want to do it though?

Weather dude just said you guys will get up to five more inches of snow. We’ll get up to two, but also sleet and/or freezing rain.
Yikes

Freezing rain can be a very destructive, hope it isn't too much for the trees and power lines to bear.

We had Freezing rain 2 times over the last 3 years and I am still getting some tree work from those storms.

Hoping it warms up ASAP there so you guys can start the healing and rebuilding of broken shit.

Gotta be careful for sure

I have seen many construction mishaps via those torches

Probably wanna know what exactly is inside that wall you are attempting to heat and as you say don't get it too hot, or too hot too quick.

That sucks. You hanging in alright?
We’re lucky enough to be at a friend’s house.... my wife, our dog and me. We’re good. We have this place to ourselves. We have it for as long as we need it.

Our poor house has been without power for right at 36 hours now. I drove over this morning. I’m afraid a bunch of stuff will be ruined. Some pipes are frozen.

Big picture.... we’re good. Anything ruined is just property. We’re lucky enough to have the means to not have to fret it too much. There are a lot of people not so fortunate.

Fuck.... is the world coming to an end:

“More than 200,000 north Fort Worth residents are now being urged to boil their water prior to consumption after a power outage at a water treatment plant, the city says.

A city news release on Tuesday said the issue affects 210,000 people in North Fort Worth. Cities that buy water from the plant -- Haslet, Keller, Lake Worth, Northlake, Roanoke, Saginaw, Southlake, Trophy Club and Westlake are being told to boil their water as well.

The issue stemmed from a power outage at the Eagle Mountain Treatment Plant, which provides water to the affected cities. The plant and raw water pump station in the 6800 block of Bowman Roberts Road lost power Monday afternoon and has since experienced multiple outages.”

Before the temp gets above freezing, make sure you kill the main water line.
An unpressurized broken pipe will leak a little as the ice thaws. A pressurized broken pipe is like having a pressure washer cut loose in your house.
