You asked if there was only one system where people are held to account. There is not.
One system involves the free market which would be people taking their business elsewhere and the company going bankrupt. The other involves the state sticking it's big stately nose in to make sure everyone is doing what they state has decided is right. This is both what you're advocating for and a form of socialism. Personally, I think you're correct in thinking they're they right ones to deal with this situation. But your stance on energy runs directly counter to your previous stance on how tech businesses should be allowed to conduct themselves. I'm just looking for some consistency.
