you are embracing your bad luck. How so?

It isn't a conventional movie in many waysif you live a life with a glass half empty approach.
i thought the film was plodding. I didn’t know why till about half way through and then I realised.
there is no score.
maybe I should watch it agin. I have been known to be wrong. I remember thinking the disc man was the future of mobile quality music.
You're acknowledging that your bad luck was in fact good luck. "Luck" is often neither bad nor good. It's up to the attitude of the individual to interpret it.you are embracing your bad luck.
and thanking it for saving you.
fuck that.
no. Your quote sums up our different approach perfectly. You're acknowledging that your bad luck was in fact good luck.
No, I don't "embrace' bad luck. I like to think that "everything happens for a reason" even when those things happen to be bad.no. Your quote sums up our different approach perfectly.
your bad luck saves you from worse luck. you Embrace bad luck to save you from worse.
Recommendations? I'm tempted to call Breaking Bad a close second, but there's a certain cheese factor that came into play when the series got really popular. The Challenger product placement stuck out like a sore thumb. There are close seconds due to more than a few duff episodes. But it’s definitely the greatest.
Not in the same ballpark as Soprano's. Breaking Bad was fun, but holy fuck was the writing lazy.I'm tempted to call Breaking Bad a close second
I thought the writing was brilliant up until the last season. One episode you're hoping for the death of Gustavo Fring, the next you're left sympathizing with him.Not in the same ballpark as Soprano's. Breaking Bad was fun, but holy fuck was the writing lazy.
Seemingly every episode involved a character being painted into an artificial corner. That sir, was fucking lazy.I thought the writing was brilliant up until the last season. One episode you're hoping for the death of Gustavo Fring, the next you're left sympathizing with him.
You're describing every drama that ever aired on TNT. Never got that vibe from Breaking Bad. Examples?Seemingly every episode involved a character being painted into an artificial corner. That sir, was fucking lazy.
The entire episode where they were at Tuco's house with his grandfather trying to poison him and keep Tuco from seeing the TV.You're describing every drama that ever aired on TNT. Never got that vibe from Breaking Bad. Examples?
Eh. They're all season-long story arcs though. That episode is a good example of where Breaking Bad shined brighter than Sopranos, and that's cinematography. The entire episode where they were at Tuco's house with his grandfather trying to poison him and keep Tuco from seeing the TV.
not sure when since i havent gone to the waterpark since 2001, but apparently they got rid of Cannonball Falls. it wasnt that big a deal. but funWatched this over the weekend it was pretty wild...

Welcome To Action Park:
The World’s Most Dangerous Amusement Park

“Action Park”
If you grew up near New Jersey, the chances are pretty good that the mere sight of those words floods your brain with feelings of dread, doom, and possibly the memories of at least a few scars—if not the time of your life.
Here's the gist: During its 1980s and 1990s heyday, New Jersey’s Action Park earned a reputation as the most insane — and possibly the most dangerous — amusement park that ever existed.
It was known as a lawless land, ruled by drunk teenage employees and frequented by even drunker teenage guests. The rides were experimental and illogical, and seemed to ignore even the most basic notions of physics or common sense—not to mention safety.
Let’s put it this way: There was an enclosed tube waterslide that went in a complete loop—and that wasn’t even close to the most dangerous ride at the park.
Lying somewhere between Lord of the Flies and a Saw movie, Action Park is remembered as a place so insane and treacherous that, decades later, anybody who ever stepped foot in it is left wondering whether their memories could possibly be true. It became a nearly perfect breeding ground for urban legends and myths.
And then there was the park’s founder: A genius madman who was willing to break any rule to bring his vision to life, including the creation of a fake insurance company in the Cayman Islands to circumvent insurance regulations. As cunning as he was criminal, Action Park became the pure expression of his particular worldview, which valued self-responsibility above all else—including basic safety measures and physically practical rides.
But despite—or perhaps because—of its safety record and notoriety, Action Park is remembered fondly by a generation who cut their teeth (and their skin) on the park’s treacherous attractions. To many, the scars left by the park are viewed as badges of honor. Surviving a day at Action Park was far from a sure thing—but if you did it, you left feeling like a changed person.
Class Action Park is the first-ever feature-length documentary to explore the legend, legacy, and truth behind a place that long ago entered the realm of myth. Shirking the trappings of nostalgia, the film uses investigative journalism, newly unearthed and never-before-seen documents and recordings, original animations, and interviews with the people who lived it to reveal the shocking true story for the first time.
Welcome to Action Park: A place the likes of which, we will almost certainly never see again.
Watching in brugges.
Fantastic movie. If any of you cunts ain't seen it I suggest you check it out.
10/10
It's they key theme of the movie....Rewatched "Gang Of New York" yesterday.
I forgot how racist that movie was.
The Irish discrimination was a distant second to the black and Asian racism. It's they key theme of the movie....
The Irish getting oppressed
No it wasn't. It was the key tone. And why do you refer to one as discrimination and the other as racism? The Irish discrimination was a distant second to the black and Asian racism.
According to rumours, Daniel Day Lewis absolutely refused to go out of character at all during the filming of Gangs of New York, and it drove his co-stars to distraction. Also it's a great movie, but I absolutely hated the ending. Which also ties into racism. It ruined the movie imo
I can believe it. Iirc he came out of retirement for that role and took it very seriously.According to rumours, Daniel Day Lewis absolutely refused to go out of character at all during the filming of Gangs of New York, and it drove his co-stars to distraction.
