no lesbian has ever been raped and impregnated

It's very possible. In the case of something like being trapped with an abuser, the odds of them being able to get an abortion strike me as somewhat low anyways. That being said, there's also the statistic where rape and incest account for very few abortions, but are disproportionately the focus of the abortion debate.I don't think every victim of rape or incest has access to those agencies in time to take emergency contraception. Also haven't they been trying to cut funding to those agencies like planned parenthood? Aside from the possibility of people being trapped with their abuser or not being able to speak up about it right away, Texas used to have a large medically underserved population. @Splinty would know the real situation these days.

When the kid is 5 or 6.If you don't mind me asking at what point do you think an abortion should no longer be offered to a woman
Maybe it should be a thing where the window closes for a period but then reopens. When the kid is 5 or 6.
What's driving that?
I don't think the percentage of people who are victims should necessarily affect what the laws should be that apply to those victims. It's very possible. By that age you should have a good indication as to whether or not they're going to be a real shithead. Much later just seems cruel and a waste of resources.Maybe it should be a thing where the window closes for a period but then reopens.
That's what I'm saying, so give them until they're 5. But then if they open a TikTok account then they're back to being eligible.By that age you should have a good indication as to whether or not they're going to be a real shithead. Much later just seems cruel and a waste of resources.
What if it's only used to watch others similar to a train crash? That's what I'm saying, so give them until they're 5. But then if they open a TikTok account then they're back to being eligible.
The thing is we write laws for the norm, and make amendments for the exceptions. Like in this instance, if Texas had enacted the 6 week abortion law, but let in an amendment for incest or rape, would that article read vastly different? I doubt it because when this has been brought in at other times with those exceptions it was met with the same reception. The "Not even incest and rape!" line strikes me as more of an attempt to score a point than it does an attempt at compromise.I don't think the percentage of people who are victims should necessarily affect what the laws should be that apply to those victims.
That's completely fair, my personal experience with abortion has unfortunately been one of women using it as method of birth control, which I find repugnant. (See @Leigh I can use the "R" word too)I have no idea. I have never been in the situation before so I'm not sure I'm the best person to figure that out.
I will say, when I was in school I learned there were two types of abortion procedures. The later one is closer to an actual delivery. I would think if you have to deliver a baby anyway, at that point perhaps it should be a no-go.
It's hard for me to imagine wanting to do that myself, but I really don't know what kinds of crazy situations people feel like they're in at that point.
Also there are some tests on the baby that are not done until the 5th month I think, but I've never had that. I probably still wouldn't have an abortion even if there was a problem unless the doctor said I needed to. So I don't know. But I have really good health insurance through my job too, and I live in NY state which covers all kids too I think (but I never needed that so I don't know all the details).
What if it's only used to watch others similar to a train crash?
Years ago I met a woman doing some volunteering work and she was a legit born again Christian. Her daughter was raped and got pregnant and she told me that abortion was never even a thought. Her daughter had the baby and the baby was the light of their life. Now that's dedication and it reminds me of years ago when a POS guy shot and killed 5 Amish girls (6-13) in a Pennsylvania school and the religious and devout Amish forgave the killer and even attended his funeral along with his family...I don't think there should logically be exceptions for rape. Let me first make clear that I am 100% pro choice and I find abortion laws repugnant. However, if you are making these laws because you believe you are saving a baby's life, then someone getting raped is terrible but not enough to kill a baby over.
i'm no rock scientist but I think a post partum abortion of the down syndrome folks might be a murder or a skosh murdery. this austrian guy with a Charlie chaplin mustache did those to the down syndrome community once.Thoughts?
Richard Dawkins Lambasted For Saying Down Syndrome Babies Should Be Aborted … Again
- Biologist and emeritus University of Oxford professor Richard Dawkins is again drawing fire for saying that Down syndrome babies should be aborted.
- Dawkins sparked a backlash in 2014 when he advised someone on Twitter to “abort it and try again,” if that person had a child with Down syndrome, adding, “It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice.”
- “It seems to me to be plausible that if a child has any kind of disability, then you probably would increase the amount of happiness in the world more by having another child instead,” Dawkins said in early May.

I have no dog in the fight but it has always perplexed me why conservativesTexas governor signs 'heartbeat' abortion ban into law | CNN Politics
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday signed into law a so-called "heartbeat ban" abortion bill -- barring most abortions at the onset of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into pregnancy and before many people know they are pregnant.www.cnn.com
Heartbeat=abortion illegal
No exceptions made for rape or incest either.
To be clear this law is intended to be challenged by the writers. The intent of this law is to force the supreme Court to wade into the abortion issue with a hope to undo Roe v Wade. Ongoing efforts in multiple other states mirror this strategy.
Conservatism and religion aren't synonymous. The Bible also says all sorts of wacky stuff.I have no dog in the fight but it has always perplexed me why conservatives
are so anti abortion. The bible mentions killing babies and fetuses dozens
of times.
Whole anti abortion movement for religious reasons sounds silly
and entirely disingenious to me.
