We’ve been getting hosed in Austin lately. I think it’s finally breaking, but we got 20 inches of rain over the last 4-5 weeks. Way above the norm. We usually only get around 25-30 inches total for a whole year. We were in a drought, so I guess it’s good in that regard. But it’s really been fucking up my work and mountain biking schedules.

The cicada invasion is finally on the decline. They are still making a racket, but not so much that i need to wear earplugs.

Now the thousands upon thousands of dead, rotting bug corpses are stinking everything up. Need a damn good rain to wash their guts into the soil. They really stink something awful.

I’m down on the coast on North Padre Island (Gulf of M) for the week. A big storm is out over the water a little farther away from us, so we’ve got a lot of wind/rain and some white capping waves which are heavier than normal. Tried to take a pic, but it kind of sucks. It was dark so I had to crank up the brightness to see anything. It was a nice walk on the beach with a drink and a cigar though ?

Going over to see a buddies new cabin this weekend.. Cabin on a small island, no frills. Electricity and a small water tank, compostable toilet, pack off all garbage.

Anyone have any suggestions for a must have tool/accessory/toy gift for the cabin?

If we have a good time, we might consider buying a lot or cabin over there.
