Taliban fighters are said to feel "angry" and "betrayed" by the US after discovering that military equipment left behind at Kabul airport had been disabled.

when I was working on them, there wasn't a career field for "drone operator".

I worked on the integration of the Motorola/Raytheon satellite radios into the airframe in 98-ish

just seed the next generation of blood-libel enemies, give them time to mature.

FWIW-
our drone pilots were just fighter pilots. We never met or socialized, but I saw them come and go, O-6s. For TS-SCI work they bring you in to accomplish a specific task or set of tasks, and generally keep you apart if you don't have to interact for the mission. Me and another guy reported to an 0-4, those were the only people I regularly worked with on that project.
