Good thing he and Trump got along or we'd be fooked.

You've made several references about trump being good on this topic and Joe Biden just keeping gas flowing against a relatively reasonable morally neutral Putin.

What exactly would be different here if Trump were in power?

Putin would still invade. Trump would just let him. Is that a better strategy in your opinion?

President Putin is reported to be 170 cm (5'7") tall.

He also uses shoes with hidden wedge heels at official arrangements to look taller. According to some accounts, these add between 3 and 6 cm (2-3 inches) to his height.

So Putin is as tall as SongExotic2 @SongExotic2. Also a complete lunatic, just like Song.

Coincidence???

Trump didn't have any time for NATO. During Trump's presidency coverage of Russia/Ukraine completely fell into the background.

Yes.

This is awesome- if the US and Germany make good on their threat/agreement to nuke NordStream Putin is fucked. Gazprom is basically state-owned, and the US has already started shipping LNG to Europe to meet demand now that Russia took themselves out of the market. The longer this goes on, the less chance Russia has of ever penetrating the European energy market again. He has to make sure the conflict doesn't stop until his new Russo-Chinese alliance also has provisions for energy exports from Russia to China. So the new Eurasian Forces will be Russia/China/Pakistan/Iran basically vs Everyone else.

Trump was never the endgame. Ukraine was the endgame. Russian Eurasianism was the endgame. Putin put Trump in so he would keep the US and NATO out of Russia's way when it finally pulled the trigger on Ukraine. Hell, Trump said PUBLICLY he trusted Putin over his own 6 intelligence agencies. He got impeached trying to stop military aid to Ukraine. Putin had no reason to think Trump wouldn't get reelected. Imagine if Trump were president now? At best he'd be pulling funding, troops and materiel from NATO, at worst he'd be calling for outright aid to Russia.

Now that the Olympics are over and Russia is moving on Ukraine, look for China to manufacture an excuse to invade Taiwan- probably a downed jet they keep flying over Taiwan. The west can't respond to both threats at once. The US and Japan will mobilize against China in the South China Sea and Europe will be busy with Russia in the east.

Welcome to World War III.

Fucking Putin, the cunt.

Germans are too dependent on that natural gas, alot of their manufacturing industry apparently is build around using gas. And it would be too costly to change. Hopefully there is enough alternate sources for it.

What you described with Taiwan and Ukraine, same time invasions is really scary ...hopefully nothing like that happens and no nukes accidently go off flying.

I'm not making light of the shit things that can happen. If there is war, many people can and probably will die and many more displaced. That's nothing to make light of.

However, I'm also a realist and know that if all out war happens, people like us on this forum and generally powerless to end it ourselves. That said, I think most of will have some power to use the effects of any war to make things positive for us and those around us. Things like saving money and monitoring the stock markets and other investment type markets, and invest money where we deem it great to do so.

Look at potential areas which may be of a demand when any war is over and perhaps gain skills in those areas. That's what I intend to do, because unfortunately families are going to die and they are going to be broken, but damned if I let that happen to my family.

Quit pitching me your financial planning services
Fuck no mate. Financial planning regulations in this country were made a lot stricter last year. Insurance premiums for FP businesses went up so much a lot of the small fish sold their businesses. I ain't no planner brother.

Very scary. I don't anticipate large-scale nuclear weapons being used, however tactical nuclear strategies are probably not off the table.

Putin wants Sevastopol for the Russian Navy. Without it, Russia has no warm-water ports. Sevastopol allows Russia to project power into the Mediterranean via the Straights of Turkey (a country playing both sides). If America supplants Russia as LNG/energy supplier to Europe when NordStream goes offline, it will be by ship. Russia will send their Black Sea and Baltic fleets out to sink the ships. Then you'll see some fucking fireworks. Most of our Ohio-class subs are deployed to the Pacific Fleet to deal with North Korea and China. I'm not sure what the capabilities of our Sixth Fleet are, I'm looking that up. They'll be dealing with whatever Russia steams into the Mediterranean.

Putin is playing chicken and gambling NATO doesn't have the balls to come at him. We'll see if they do. Russia can NOT defeat the allied forces of NATO without tactical nukes, and that would be a level of aggression that I don't think I want to think about.

You think Turkey would let Russia through the Bosporus and the Dardanelles?
