This is what I've been waiting for. You've got a heavily wooded area and an invading force. Conventional armies just don't have a great answer for this type of response. And even more so since the local populace will have lone wolves doing it all over the place. The IEDs will just pick pace as Russia starts to try to hold land it has taken.

Look at the various battles for Fallujah, mete. Smaller city, far more lopsided combatants. Battle 1 -1 month - Battle 2 - 2 months, Battle 3 - 5 months.
Defenders can hold out in messy urban warfare a long time, even against overwhelming odds. But there was never any doubt that Ruskies would eventually take it - you stand basically alone in your retardation on this one.

Some seriously dark stuff will happen to a lot of the refugees.
