Translation:
"Dear Ukrainian people,
We are the 36th Naval Infantry Brigade, which did not betray its vows in 2014 and exited Crimea to continue defending Ukraine. We are defending Mariupol for 47 days since the beginning of the war. We have been bombed from the sky, we have been shelled by artillery, tanks and other weapons. We stood our ground, doing the impossible. But any resources have a tendency of running out sooner or later. During combat operations, we have been given 50 122mm shells, 20 mines, some NLAWs and Starlink from Elon Musk – thanks Elon, it survived multiple airstrikes and still works. Nothing more has been transferred. Without ammunition our ability to defend ourselves has been very limited, and we have been pushed back to “Azovmash” factory, where the enemy has encircled us and is now trying to obliterate us.
There was an option to bring in additional reserve to strengthen the defenses. There were options to break through the enemy lines to reach our forces. Sodol’ , Degtyaritsky tried to do something, but their superiors turned them away. We reported to JFO about it, they told us to hang on and that they are working on it, they promised a helicopter which never came. We talked with Commander in Chief who promised a deblockade. We talked with the Guarantor (president?) who guaranteed us either a political or military resolution of the situation. For more than a month infantry has been fighting without resupply, without food or water, having to drink water from puddles, and we have a big number of deaths. The mountain of wounded soldiers accounts for almost half of the entire brigade. People who don’t have their limbs torn off and who are capable of walking are coming back to fight. Most of the infantry is dead and shootouts are conducted by artillery guys, drivers, cooks, signalmen. Even the orchestra members. They die, but they die fighting. We are slowly dying out.
The wise generals advise us to take ammunition from the enemy. [Not sure of the correct translation: Those Soviet klutzes haven’t died of old age yet, so now a lot more people have to die because of them]. There were chances. There were possibilities but due to the fear of reporting up the command chain, they haven’t been realized. Nobody wants to communicate with us because we have already been written off as dead.
I think that today will be our final battle because we don’t have any more ammo. After that it’s coming down to CQC. Next – death for some, imprisonment for others.
Dear Ukrainian people.
I don’t know what comes next, but I ask you to spare some good thought for the marines, and regardless of what future events may transpire – don’t talk bad about naval infantry. They’ve done everything possible and impossible. Because they are forever faithful!
