Spiderman is good fun.

It makes zero sense but it's a good watch if you just switch off.

Its actually quite emotional.
Finally got around to watching it.
I enjoyed it alot. Good performances from the huge cast with some emotional scenes throughout. Only real downside is that it was too long for my test.

I can’t believe i never watched this until last week. 7.5/10
Good film. I knew a smart person. Got one question wrong on his SATs. He was autistic as fuck and lost his scholarship for not doing his work. I used to take him out drinking and causing trouble. It was very puzzling for him.

I had to do an interview and fill out a bunch of shit for top secret clearance. Fuck knows what he's up to.

I remember we went for a quick drink at a Japanese restaurant in town. I started yapping with the owners and we all wound up getting hammered until 5am. I think it was the first time he'd ever been out. I can't even fucken remember leaving. Tough intro for him. He enjoyed it tho. After that he always wanted to go out.

Watched the end of Summer Rental last night.

3 huge flaws.

FLAW 1
They have a crew of about 10 people, most of which are doing fuck all during the race. But they find a fridge full of shrimp on the boat so they lighten their load and pick up speed by throwing the food - cardboard container and all - overboard.

1. Fucking littering
2. If it was that big of an issue, maybe don't have multiple humans on the sailboat who are just along for the ride and weighing the boat down way more than the food.

FLAW 2
They send the dumb Swede out to get a sail. He has trouble finding one, but eventually gets lucky and finds it right before the race starts. Halfway through the race when they get with the wind, they unfurl this sail he found - and it just so happens to have their race entry number stitched on it that matches the other sails they already had. What the fuck ever.

FLAW 3
John Candy was an air-traffic controller and during the race he sees that a small airplane is struggling to fly straight and Candy immediately recognizes the issue as a funnel gunnel - a low altitude channel of wind. So he moves the boat into the funnel gunnel and they pick up all sorts of speed - but when they show the race his boat is literally right next to the Incisor. If the Barnacle caught the wind from the extra wind, the Incisor would have caught it too and kicked their ass.

Other mentionables:
I don't know why Kerri Green never had a bigger career. She was cute in this movie and also in Goonies, but didn't have much of a career. Decent actress too.

Richard Crenna, the antagonist sailor in this film, was in Rambo First Blood 2 that same year.

Tried to watch The Batman.
I got about a half an hour in and I realized I don’t give a fuck about Batman. Boring as fuck.
It’s dumb.

The Riddler’s cell phone video was done better by The Joker 14 years ago.

Apart from the utter lack of a story. Or, a very indulgent director/editor.... It was the nods to nolans classics that just made you think of them and how shit this version was.

Welcome back btw. You was missed and mentioned a lot. X

Saw Multiverse of Madness this weekend. I’d give it a 6.5. Was enjoyable. Benedict was good as always. But there are some big time plot holes and just dumb things that don’t make sense. Panders a touch albeit not over the top. Also most of the motivation isn’t believable.

I've seen two of the Phase 4 Marvel movies so far. I liked Spiderman: No Way Home, but thought Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a bit meh.

Did Multiverse of Madness advance the overarching Marvel storyline much? (I'm not asking for specifics, just whether it sets up a bunch of other movies or is pretty much stand-alone.)

If it set anything else up it’s not apparent in the least.

I watched the first Nighmare on Elm street again. 6.66/10. I just can’t do all the screaming in horror movies. I had to mute it more than once. That being said, I’ve always liked the special effects in the Freddy movies. Fucking shit is gross.

It's been really weird to watch people pretend it's good.
I had to watch it in 3 sittings. Only started the 2nd time because the reviews made me think it might get better and only started the 3rd time because of sunk cost fallacy.

It was as awful as it was long and genuinely a chore to get through. People need to lay off the drugs.

Casino.

Not great. I recall loving it in the theater, but oof.

There are good elements but it's thin on a story level. Based on a true story, one that maybe didn't need to be made into a film.
It went from being mildly interesting, to a little boring, with the last act going to shit.

Yeah, I watched it a little while ago and had about the same reaction. It's no Goodfellas, that's for sure.

I read a comment online to the effect that Scorsese found a successful formula in Goodfellas and in some respects tried to recreate that magic.

I found Pesci's VO unintentionally almost comical/ mildly unbearable.

There really isn't much to the story that's unpredictable.

Funny you say that because I do believe they were both taken from books by the same author.
I just watched a couple of YouTube videos this weekend and it pretty much confirms what you are saying.

The tighty whitey, dirty blood always weirded me out.
Pesci’s beat up bloody face was bone chilling.
Like you guys said, I remember the movie being way better the first time I saw it. I watched it again, maybe a year or so ago, and I’m not sure I finished it.

I attempted to watch Wes Anderson's latest movie "The French Dispatch" but only made it about 2/3'rds through.
It just couldn't keep my interest and didn't seem to have the charm and artistic fun that his others films had.
I ended up rewatching Blade Runner 2049. Such a good movie. Highly recommended it if you haven't seen it.
